My DD10 is set on being Jasmine for MNSSHP and I have a problem she's at that stage where her sizing is non-existient. She is not over weight she is apprx 85pds and is about 4'9 but she has taken after her mother and is to my dismay getting the features of a woman way too early, so therefore all the costumes we find cut off at a large which is a 7-10. It's usually to small in length or won't fasten in the back, which is attributed to too much up front way to soon!!!
This is having a major affect on her because in all reality she's 10 yrs old she is still little, but facing problems she shouldn't be even thinking of yet- poor thing. As a mother I want to keep her little and innocent forever but in reality I must address this hand we've been dealt and try to keep her in her age level with appropriate attire ,and help her to understand and not be ashamed of who she is how she looks. I have looked at the disney store, online costume shops ,walmartand target. I know it's not Halloween yet but most places you can order now. I've seen adult Jasmine but she's not exactly in the size bracket for those either. In the past I've just tailored them to fit but these Jasmine costumes where I need to remove or darn material to fit her is where all the embelishment is. And the area that defines the poofy legs and arms of the costume. Does anyone know where I could find a pattern for this costume or maybe one in her size like a teen size or a 14-16. Preferably one that's not an entire midriff bearing . I saw the smaller one and the tops practically were even with the waist. No offense to anyone's preference for their children. Only you can make the choice of what is appropiate and acceptable for your child but come on I have a 10yr old who looks 14 sporting a 34 A bra that is almost to little and 16 yr old boys are looking at I don't think she needs anything else to emphasize her assets. She's going trick or treating and she is my innocent LITTLE girl!! PLease Help......
