I am going to Disney World in October and basically it will be my first time (I went when I was 3 and can't remember a thing) and I wanted to get a new camera. I researched and found two really nice cameras- the Sony DSC-H1 and the Canon S2 IS. I can't decide on which one to get. What would you do in my situation?

Here's also a side by side comparison of the two cameras you're considering which might be helpful...

I'm planning on buying a new camera in the next couple of weeks and I would LOVE to buy the S2 IS but I need an underwater housing for the camera I buy and unfortunately Canon doesn't make one for the S2 so I'll be buying the Canon A610 instead (which gets great reviews but it doesn't have 12x zoom or image stabilization). One nice feature of the S2 over the Sony is the flip-out LCD which other owners have said in their reviews is really handy at times. In all the reading I've been doing it seems like a lot of people highly recommend Canons.

I just decided to wait for the S3. It shows a list price of $499.00. If you are going in October I would probably wait. You will still have time to learn how to use it and your memories will be incredible!

I bet you'll be able to find it for less than $450. Maybe even closer to $400 online. :thumbsup2
