can someone please write me some directions on how the dis boards work.

It would help if you can give us an idea of what you're trying to do.

Basically, you can scroll down the list of the various forums here:
http://www.disboards.com/

When you find one that is of interest to you, click on the title of the forum.

There you'll find various threads started on the subject. If any are of interest to you, click on the title of the thread. There you can read posts by different people discussing that subject. You can also post a response (like you did here) by typing in the reply window at the bottom of the page and clicking on "Post Reply".
