Help how does it work when part of the family is staying offsite?

We have a large group heading to the world, in August, to celebrate my 40th birthday! We are DVC members and will be staying at a DVC resort. Here is where it gets tricky: me, DH, and DS have annual passes. The rest of the family staying on site with us will have park hoppers; this all should be fine because we will all be on the reservations. My friend and her DD are staying offsite also have annual passes. Can I make all the fast pass reservations together for the ones who are staying off site? I have never stayed off site and have no idea what this all entails with fastpass plus! THANKS!
