DD (6yrs) got a hair wrap when we were in WDW about three weeks ago. It's starting to look a little scraggly and I told her it was coming out before school starts on Tuesday. So I went to get it out today by cutting down by the beads. But OMG, it's a pain to unwrap, two different colors and I feel like I'll be at it all night.

Can I cut it out without ruining her hair? I KNEW I should have had my mom do it when dd was at her house all last week! I'm terrible with hair and I know my mom could manage it, but I'll likely ruin it. Ugh.

Use small cuticle scissors and cut each color separately. Then uwrap that section and move on to the next one. It will take some time but should be able to be taken out without damaging the hair. My DD8 has had 3 of them. Maybe next time I should ask her to feed me popcorn while I take it out.

We got one for DD5 at the time, but in Panama city beach . The wrap was sortof under her hair to the side, she could show it if she wanted to , or we could "hide" it. Anyway she had it in for about a month. The night I "tried" to take it out, it took
FOREVER and I didn't even make a dent, I tried the small cuticle sissors, I tried to "shave" it with my razor, and of course just using my hands. NOTHING worked, so finallly gave up and had to cut it out of her hair :( lucky for us it was in the back , so you really couldn't tell! I swore I would NEVER let her get the wrap again were they weave each strand thru the hair!..... So all I can say is good luck :rotfl: but no seriously good luck!

I currently have one in right now. It is in the back so no one can tell unless I show it. Well anyways it said on the thing they gave me to clip the knots with nail clippers. IF the colors are solid then there should be knots about every inch or so and it should come out. LAst time I just cut it out becuase I did not want to deal with it.

Thanks everyone.

I gave up last night and told her to go to bed and we'd see what we could do this morning. BUT that was not a good idea and made it even worse. We were in danger of being late to a party so I ended up cutting it out. Thankfully it seems not to noticable unless you know about it.

Next time I will push for the temporary tatoo cart instead of the hair wrap lol!
