:mad:I am so upset I've been checking almost every day to see if SW had opened up their late summer flights and of course the day I don't check they do. The prices now seem quite high (from what I read they were pretty good when they 1st opened) I am debating whether or not to book or to wait and see if they go down (right now it's $109 each way with transfers or $129 for Non stop out of BUF). I do have a credit with SW so I don't want to book with another airline but I was hoping our credit for giving up our seats in March would cover most, if not all of the cost. Should I wait or book???:confused3

The wife and i booked our flights out of Buffalo for early Sept on Apr-14 on SW. We got it for 59.00. We usually go to Disney in Feb and Sept and we have never paid more than 59.00 . If you got the nerves to wait and check SW every day i would wait and see what happens. Are you signed on for Ding? :thumbsup2

Some of the flights that were $79 yesterday are back down to $59 today so I suspect the prices will be jumping around a bit. Are you flexible with your dates? We changed our return flight home to stay 1 day later and it saved us $300 even after adding the extra night in Disney.

Just keep checking...there was definite movement in rates today. Flights we just purchased to $79 now are only $59. We generally buy at a rate we are ok with and then change the reservations if the rates go down. They don't refund the money but you keep the credit and have a year to use it. If you get close to expiry you can call and sometimes they will convert the credit to a "luv' card which will give you an extra 6 months. With Southwest's good rates and frequent non-stop flights, we rarely check other carriers anymore. AS well, we are usually working off credits from previous flight changes.

The only thing I'd be concerned about extending a credit is if SW going out of business down the line.

I'm putting positive vibes out there for SW to stay fiscally healthy! Blessings, Sandra:wizard::hippie:

In the wake of Conquest....don't even think it :scared1:

Oh, don't even think that about Southwest! Yikes! They're in good shape, aren't they??

The flights that would be useful to us--i.e., Manchester NH--haven't been discounted at all yet. (Well, I don't consider $99 one way a discount! Though it'd still match what I'd pay for those "free" airmiles tickets!) I'm looking at August or Sept for free dining. I've re-loaded Ding! on my computer and am hanging on...Last time we got $59 fares but it was within 2 months. Nerve-wracking! But, oh it's sweet when you can fly a family of four for the cost of one ticket from Halifax!

Booked 4 flights Tuesday night.
$107 down $98 back.
They are $119 and $107 each now.

$84 US difference if I had waited.

I felt they were more likely to go up then down.

Ok, Sandra, I think you have the answer to this one:worship:
I purchased our one way tickets BUF to Orlando for the end of October, two days ago for what I thought was a good price of $79, and thanks to everyone, I just checked, and they are now $59.
How do I go about changing to the lower fare:confused3
Do I end up with just a credit for the $20/flight difference, or for the whole amount:confused3

thanks all:flower3:

You can change out the tickets right on the Southwest website. Use the Change air Reservation page. Basically you will be repicking the same flight only now the tickets are cheaper. As you go through the screens, it eventually 'reconciles' the bill and you will be left with a credit for the difference. This credit will need to be used for travel which occurs within 12 months of the original purchase date

Thanks, I just did it and save $80 US (97.70 Canadian with today's exchange rate).
That makes a total of $278.40 US or ($338.14) for 4 one way flights:banana:
I can't believe anyone flys out of Pearson any more.:confused3
I can put that credit towards my return flight when they open up in June.
But than again, who says I'm ever coming back:rolleyes1

Same thing for us. Booked at $79 then went down the next day. But I called within 24 hours of booking and will recieve a credit for the difference on my credit card. $59 each way direct for 4 people in mid September!
Now I need to extend my SW credit from last year and sell to a friend!

:thanks: to my friends on the DIS boards! I've been watching flights for the end of October (usually fly Detroit but Buffalo is almost as close), and if it weren't for reading this thread on Sunday night, I never would have checked SW from Buffalo! Thanks to you, I did check and got 8 flights at $59/person!

THANK YOU DIS FRIENDS!!!!

By the sounds of this thread it looks like it will probably be an all canadian flight out of buffalo. We also booked our on April 14th and got 59.00 both ways non stop for the end of September.:flower3:

I have booked our flights with southwest on that "stressful" day on April 14th.
The prices kept changing every few minutes.
Got it for $59 each way with 1 stop.

The flight from BUF arriving in Orlando at 8:00 PM is not really an ideal one but I chose it because it was the cheapest at $59. I continue to monitor and hoping that the 2 flights earlier becomes cheaper. It is now $109 with 1 stop and $129 without a stop.

My questions are:
- What are the chances of it going down ? I have subscribed to the DING.

- If it does go down (I know from these threads that I can change it online and get a credit), BUT what if there are not enough seats for the 4 of us ? Do I lose my original reservation ?

- Can I call SWA and change it with an agent ?
