Hello All!
My family are insane Disney people, who happen to love Harry Potter. My boyfriend (possibly the most insane Potter fan I know) is coming on his first Disney trip with us in April/May. His birthday will be when we are on the trip and I want to set up reservations for either the Leaky Cauldron or the Three Broomsticks. We will most likely eat both places, because, come on, we have to.

But which one would be a better "Birthday Dinner".

Keep in mind we are staying on property and have booked a lot of fun character meals and dinner shows.

Anyone have any advice????

So "staying on property" means Disney property not Universal property, yes? And you are planning a Universal day to visit the park so you can get in to the restaurants...April/May, you should be fine for dinner, but check park hours to make sure you have plenty of time to be seated and enjoy your meal. We went in August in 2013 and I was surprised by how early the parks closed, especially during the week.

I haven't yet been to the Leaky Cauldron, but we really like the Three Broomsticks, and I haven't heard that LC has the equal in atmosphere--e.g., the house elves' shadows, the sounds of scurrying/arguing elves.

Assuming your BF is of age, the Three Broomsticks is attached to the Hogshead Pub, where you can get a decent pint of beer. We usually end up visiting the Hogshead for a combination of a pint for the grown ups and a butter beer for the kids, because it is much more cosy and feels less like a theme park and more like a small establishment.
Have fun--I'd love it if I could have my birthday dinner in the Wizarding World!!

ETA, you'd probably get more feedback from the Universal forum. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30

Yes we are staying on Disney Property (the first time ::Kinda:: we haven't stayed at the Grand Floridian. Its causing me a little anxiety.)

We are "scheduled" to be in IOA and US on Thursday and Friday, Friday being my boyfriends birthday. Yes he is of age, but physically only, and I would bet a butterbeer is what he is really going to want! lol

Thanks for the info....And I should post this in the right spot. oops!
