Help--Harbor hotels are full. Where to stay?

We decided to take a last minute trip to visit my elderly grandparents over fall break--10/10-13. It will just be my hubby and I and our 5 mo. old baby. We'd like to see California Adventure while we are there, probably on Friday so we want a hotel nearby on Thurs and Fri nights. All of the hotels on Harbor seem to be full or are extremely overpriced for those dates. Where else should I look? We'd like to be walking distance if possible and are thinking of either the motels like BW Courtesy Inn over by the Mickey & Friends parking lot or something on Katella. Also, thinking of using hotwire for a Garden Grove area hotel and driving or taking ART. We don't want to spend more than $100 a night, and need a decent bed, clean, and not paper thin walls. I'd appreciate any thoughts or ideas. Thanks!

We love the Sheraton Anaheim the rooms are quite large plus it has its own dedicated shuttle... I would do that before doing an ART hotel. Its going to be more around the 120 per night with AAA rates but the dedicated shuttle makes it worth it IMO.

I like Lastminutetravel.com a lot. I checked your dates, and there seems to be availability at Anaheim Hilton (4 star hotel that is 13.37 miles from airport for $85/night) and Red Lion (3.5 star hotel 12.96 miles from airport for $72/night). Both are across the street (off of Katella) where you could easily walk to the Toy Story parking lot, and take the shuttle to the parks.
On LMY, they do not always list the hotel names and that is why I gave you the add'l info to differentiate the hotels.

Check Katella first then look at Garden Grove.

We had a similar situation as you one year. Last minute trip in the middle of August & even Garden Grove area was full! We ended up in Santa Ana at a really great hotel. Had a suite & free hot breakfast each morning for $80/night. For middle of August- this was a great price!!
We bought our park tix at AAA which gave us free parking & it was less then 15 min drive. So I would recommend this if you can't find anything else & don't mind a short drive. ;)

Try stovalls, the walk is pretty, free breakfast and third night is free through get away today. Usually around 80/nt.

Frankly at only 3 weeks out during a fall break for some areas and during what has become a healthily busy Halloween season for DL and still so soon after the Carsland opening, I don't think you're going to find walking distance for less than $100 per night. I did a cursory check of a few places. Have you looked at the Quality Inn on Manchester? You could get a one queen room for $103.49 + taxes. I haven't stayed there but my mother-in-law did once. She said it wasn't one of her favorites and she had a few complaints, but she said it was clean and safe at least.

ETA: Only room I could find available on Best Western Stovalls on their website for your nights was two queen beds for $130.50 + taxes. Best I could find at Anaheim Plaza Hotel, another popular often "cheap" walking distance option, was $119 + taxes for a standard king room.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone! Sadly Stovall's is quite overpriced right now too. Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Courtesy Inn or the Holiday Inn by Ball & Walnut?

Girimama, have you ever booked on lastminutetravel when the room said "on request?" Also, the price does not include parking or other fees right?

I find with LMT, it is best to call to book the room...usually they waive or include resort/parking fees.

We've heard really good reports about the BW Courtesy Inn. Clean, simple, and you can cut through M&F after exiting the trams. Have you looked at the Super 8? We've heard good things about that hotel, too.
