Help...Going to Cedar point...Pooh sized!!!

DH weighs 235, and has a waist of 42 inches, but has bird legs He has no problems on any of the rides in disney world, but in universal he had to sit in the "big" seats for the hulk.

We REALLY would love to go to cp next year, but we dont want to drive all that way if he wont be able to ride. Anyone have any trouble fitting in these rides?

RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
Safety is number one at Cedar Point. All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seatbelts, must be positioned, fastened and tightened to allow guests to ride. We are required by the State of Ohio to enforce all manufacturer requirements.

Due to rider restraint system requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to, men who exceed 6’2”, or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40” waistline or 52” chest or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear size 18 or larger. Each person has different body proportions so it is not possible to list exact size and weight.

Our larger guests may experience difficulty on Blue Streak, Chaos, Corkscrew, Disaster Transport, Mantis, Maverick, maXair, Mean Streak, Millennium Force, Mine Ride, Power Tower, Raptor, Skyhawk, Top Thrill Dragster, Wave Swinger, Wicked Twister.

Maximum recommended weight limits are posted on many rides including Camp Snoopy rides, Chaos, Monster, Planet Snoopy rides, Scrambler, Skyscraper, Super Himalaya, Troika, Wave Swinger, RipCord and most Soak City attractions.

You may enter the ride via the exit to ensure the restraints function properly prior to waiting in line. We have test seats at Maverick, maXair, Millennium Force, Raptor, Skyhawk, Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister.

I'd be inclined to lose a few before I attempted CP. Especially the newer rides-Millennium Force, TT Dragster, Maverick, etc. There's no wiggle room on those rides. Still tons to enjoy but you want to enjoy all of it. This year my DH barely fit on MF. He had to really suck it in to the point it was uncomfortable. Guess I should get him a treadmill this Christmas. Oh I love my big bear!

I've found Cedar Point to be the worst of all of the parks I've ever been to in regards to Pooh-sized accomodations. Not that any of them need to make "special" accomodations, but some parks tend to have roomier seats in their rides than others. Disney and Six Flags have fairly roomy seats, but Cedar Point does not. There are MANY rides at Cedar Point that a Pooh-sized guest would not be able to ride.

My boyfriend is a supervisor for one of Cedar Fair's parks (not Cedar Point) and has been to Cedar Point several times. If you don't mind, I will send him the link to this thread and he can probably give you an answer from a ride employee's perspective.

Most of the larger rides (the rides that pooh sized people will have issues with ) will have a sample seat before you get in line. You can jump in the seat to see how well you will fit before getting in line.

It's not really an issue of CP not being friendly to pooh sized people, more of an issue of the fastest and tallest coasters in the world. Safety plays into this.

My Dh and I both had issues with not being able to ride most of the rides at Cedar Point. Our 14 yr old who is no way close to being pooh sized said he was uncomfortable on the rides he did go on. DH wears between a 42 -44 depending on the maker of the pants. I wear 20w most days. We went to Kings Island and he didn't have any trouble riding rides there. They rode ALL the rollor coasters without a problem. We went to both places last summer. DH and DS both said they didn't want to go back to CP becuase they couldn't have fun together. Oh, and the employees were not nice about it either. It was you don't fit you can't ride in a VERY LOUD voice. Let's just say CP was a horrible trip for us. The only thing great was the weather!! DS was extremely dissappointed. Not to mention the times they shut the gate as we were going through and DS ended up on rides without us and all the worker did was shrug when he said something!

I don't know about your DH - it might be a close call. The rides (and it isn't all of them, as people tend to say) that have restrictions all have try-it-out seats at the entrances of the rides. You can save yourself the wait that way.

He has tons of time to drop some weight, though! Might be just the incentive he needed.
