I have friends going to Disney (they've never been) and they have 8:20am reservations at Chef Mickey's and I'm trying to tell them how to get there from POR.

I told them to be at their hotel bus stop by 7:30am at the LATEST...but MK opens at 9am, so will there be a bus to MK that early or will they have to get a bus to the TTC and get the monorail there? I don't know if I should tell them to look for a Magic Kingdom bus or a Character Breakfast bus?

Also, just a thought...could they take a cab to the Contemporary? It's two adults, 3 kids, 9, 7 and 5. Would it be very expensive?

I had an ADR at MK at CRT for 8:20a and I was staying at the BWV. MK was opening at 9:00a that day.

I was at the bus stop at 7:00a and a CM came and said the bus should be there shortly to get us to our ADRs. It came about 15 minutes later. It said "Magic Kingdom" on it.

We made it with plenty of time to spare.

Then from MK, your friend can just walk or take the monorail over to the CR.

I would recommend they be at the bus stop between 7 and 7:15 at the latest. I say this because getting to the bus stop at 7:30 doesn't mean you'll get a bus at 7:30..it also doesn't mean that the bus won't be full(probably not, but because they pick up at FQ first, you just never know). They may have to wait another 20 minutes for a Magic Kingdom bus. We went thru this last year for one of our ADR's...we got to the bus stop in plenty of time to get there IF the bus left right then..because remember...they'll need to GET TO the Contemporary after they get off the bus and you need to allow for that travel time also.

We barely made it to our ADR(I believe it was at Ohana) on time and felt SO rushed. I just think its better to allow yourself LOTS of extra time since you're(they're) relying on WDW tranportation.

Ok, so wow, they need to be at the bus stop by 7am...

Bus stop at 7am (yikes) then let's say they get a bus at 7:15am, they should be at MK by 7:30-7:40am no? Then on to the monorail and to CR by say 8am?

Still wondering about the cab...I think they might do that if.......
A) The cab can take 5 people
B) It means they won't have to stress the bus
C) It doesn't cost a fortune.
Anyone know possible cab cost POR to CR and what time the cab would need to pick them up? (7:30am?)

Sorry for all the questions, I've never done an early ADR, but I have had other ADR's and I always do okay, giving myself an hour to get where ever it was.
but I also pretty much know what I'm doing, where as my friend and her family have never been to WDW and need a little help with this.
