A few weeks ago my dad came home from work and said to me, "Why don't we go to Disney World while your mom is out of town"? Not 10 minutes later I secured a POFQ reservation with a room only code. I was feeling very proud of myself to have snagged a code rate at my first choice of resorts a month out. I chose it for the following reasons:

a) it was within our budget
b) the refurbished rooms
c) it's small size guarentees that we won't have a room out in the boonies.

Still with all of these positive factors I'm having a hard time getting excited about this resort. My first stay on Disney property was last summer at POR and I fell instantly in love with the landscaping and the theme. FQ just doesn't seem to have that same grandness about it.

I hate to sound like I'm whining. I get to go to my favorite place in the entire world in three weeks totally unexpectedly, and I'm beyond thrilled about it. I just really want it to be wonderful. I know this resort is the best choice for this trip, it really is. I just want to be blown away by it like I was last summer at Riverside. So many of you love POFQ, tell me why!!!

Hi there,

This was my first experience staying at a Disney Resort and (it was also my honeymoon). That was 12 years ago and I still have such fond memories about this resort. It is not as big as the others, but it has a lot of charm and festive atmosphere. I also stayed at CBR which is my favorite, but I found you really can't compare the resorts because each one has it's on unique charm and theme. I'm sure you will love this resort and besides POR is only a short bike ride away. I did that 12 years ago and it was great. The Pool is great and the piped in Jazz music puts you in a great mood. I would stay there again in a hearbeat. You will not be disappointed.

The lobby is beautiful and the food court is great. Also, when I went the transportation was extremely efficient, much more than CBR. The dragon pool is real big and there is also a hot tub. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Also, when I say this resort is small, don't think that it is tiny (becuase it is not), there is pleanty of room to walk the grounds and ride bikes. But compared to the size of CBR and the other moderates, it is smaller.

Have fun

FQ is great. I'll be staying there for the 2nd time shortly. Not shortly soon enough though.

I love each Disney resort for it's own uniquiness (sp). When I first went 10 years ago, I thought I'd never love any resort like CB (on our honeymoon). Then we stayed at Dixie Landings (Riverside) I thought I'd never love another resort again. Then we stayed at WL, thought I'd never love ......... there's a pattern here.

What I'm trying to say is that each resort has it's own features that are great.

Enjoy your trip, I know you will.

I too was blown away by the POR landscaping, but not the room interiors. POFQ has lovely landscaping too - just different and more 'formal'. Looking at the new room interiors it looks a lot more upscale::yes:: plus it has elevators and the pool is WOW!

We've always enjoyed POFQ. The beignets in the morning are sooo yummy -- the people are fantastically nice -- the Mardi Gras theming is great fun! The pool is great and the kids love the sea serpent slide. It's also fun to catch the boat over to Downtown Disney.

My favorite part though? The resort is small enough that you find that EVERYTHING is close by. Want a cup of coffee while DH is taking a shower? I can walk over to the food court, fill up my mug, and return before he's even dressed! And, it's just a three minute walk (from anywhere in the resort) to the bus stop! I think it's a great resort -- you'll have a nice stay there.

#1 - It's at Disney World

#2 - It's at Disney World!!

#3 - IT'S AT DISNEY WORLD!!!!!

P.S. - I'd be SOOOO jealous if I was your mom!!!

You will love this resort! The pool is great and the boat to DTD is the best! Probably one of my favorite things to do at any resort! Be sure to take a stroll by the riverside to POR and check it out. The mansions are gorgeous!
