I know I've posted before about scorpions, but this is ridiculous!
I found a scorpion in our house last night. This makes SIX in less than six months INSIDE the house. They are absolutely the ugliest, creepiest, scariest-looking creatures in the entire world.
Well,to me anyway.
Granted, four of the six were dead when I found them, but they had to be alive inside the house at some point.
The first time we found a scorpion, we were on the phone to a pest control company, and we now have regular service. We have a cat (they are supposed to be a good thing as far as scorpions are concerned, and in fact, he was the one that found one of the alive scorpions-bless him!) we have nothing around the perimenter of the house that might attract scorpions-no bushes, woodpiles, citrus trees, water, etc. We have a mesquite tree, but we cut back the branches on a regular basis so that it isn't overhanging near the roof of the house.
We are living in an area about twenty miles south of Tucson (Green Valley/Sahuarita area). My question, to those that might know, is this particular area known for an overabundance of scorpions?!?!???!??!! The lease on our house is up in June, and at this point, we are packing and moving. I will not stay in this house!
I am so happy that we haven't purchased a house out here yet. I think we need more time to find a suitable area! Our daugher and son-in-law live about an hour from us and they have never seen a scorpion. Our son-in-law has lived in Arizona his entire life and has NEVER seen a scorpion anywhere near his house.
Anyone familiar with any areas around Tucson that DON'T have a lot of scorpions? I know WE are in their habitat, but THEY don't need to visit MY house!
