Hi we are taking our girls 8 and 11 for 2 weeks in sept. staying at AKL. I have been reading here and there, posts about a pick a pearl, riding in front of the monorail, diver cards at coral reef, etc..If anyone could lead me to an existing post..or share your faves... also heard something about a jr. chefs cooking thingy..

I want this to be the best for my girls they have ben waiting patiently!!..and maybe even surprise my DH with somethings...any help would be great....

Thanks,

Hello,

I hope you have great trip. Here are a few of my favorites.

1) I would go to the Cinderella Royal Table for breakfast. My dd (4) and niece (10) had a blast. One of my favorite memories from this last trip was when dd told Belle "My Daddy likes you".

2) Go see the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. You'll never laugh so hard.

3) Eat at the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

4) Get a Hidden Mickey book and try to find as many as you can. My son found over 20 this last trip.

5) Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad - My kids favorite Disney rollercoaster!

6) Whispering Caynon - Ask for ketchup.

7) Ride up front on the Monorail.

8) Tower of Terror!!!

9) Lights, Motor, Action - Great stunt show at MGM

10) The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. Just to hear everybody scream when the big wave comes.

Do your girls like to draw?My kids and neice(ages 8,9,10) LOVE the drawing class at the animation building at MGM next to Playhouse Disney.I donn't know how many times we did that.

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. I took my girls (10,9,6) this past trip and they LOVED it. True, there are a lot of younger girls there with princess dresses on, but my girls were treated like princesses as well and loved being pampered! They want to do this again next trip!

Firstly, welcome to the DIS. :wizard:

I'm going to second Cinderella's Royal table, however it can be quite a challenge to get a reservation for this so if you can't Akershus in Epcot is an alternative princess meal.

I'd also suggest purchasing a passport from one of the Epcot gift shops and then collect the stamps from each country in the World Showcase. This is a really fun activity for the kids (sme adults too!) and fairly inexpensive. They would get to interact with castmembers from different countries and learn a bit about the country.

Remember to call Disney Dining to get those advanced dinner reservations for locations you definitely want to eat at and be aware of the parks "extra magic hours" for early mornings or late evenings at the parks.

Maybe you and your husband could go out to a nice private meal without the kids? They do offer babysitting so you two could enjoy an evening alone. I'd recommend The California Grill at the Contemporary. You can even get an advanced dinner reservation to coincide with the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. There's tons of restaurants that offer a romantic atmosphere. Check the dining section of the boards here, they're full of suggestions and most importantly, pictures of the food!

Another vote for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique - our two girls did this last year (13 and 6 at the time) and had a blast.

Once you finish up there you can wander over to the scrapbooking shop to sign the Princess registry -- there was also a Photopass photographer on hand for a royal photo shoot.

My girls (19, 16, & 8:dance3: ) have made it a tradition to visit Japan at Epcot to pick a pearl. The CM's make a big deal if it's a large one. They clean and polish it, and they can attach it to a piece of jewelry you can wear.
