My wife and I are going to Universal for the first time on Memorial Day. Our main goal is WWoHP. We are doing both parks in one day as the rest of our trip will be in Disney. We want to do all of the HP rides, (minus the Hippogriff). We also want to do the Spider-Man, Hulk, Rip Ride Rocket, and Transformers. Is this a doable plan? Where should we start? (I am assuming we should start in one of the HP areas, correct?) If we have to leave something out, what do you suggest? Are we missing anything important, that is a must see?

are you staying on site at the darkside?
you can get a lot done with the hotel perks of unlimited usage of the express lines and early entry.
only 2 of the hp rides have express lines.

stay off site and if the crowds are not large and you start at park opening, you'll cover a lot since you will concentrate on 4 rides only besides the hp ones.

We're staying at Disney. We are doing 8 days in Florida, but I am only willing to spend one day away from Disney! Yes, we will get there for the park opening. I am just a little nervous since we've never done US before.

if you are driving to the darkside the day you visit, give yourself plenty of time for parking in the garage.
it's about a ten minute walk from the garage thru city walk to reach the park entrance.

if you are using the paid shuttle from disney to UO, sign up for the early shuttle.

go to www.universalorlando.com and get the layout of the parks.
get an idea of the locations of those 4 rides you want to do so if you do have crowds, you'll find them quickly.

if you have the 1 day 2 park tickets, take HE from diagon alley in the studios to Hogsmead at ioa.

"Must See" is all relative and very subjective.

Imagine someone asking if they only had one day to visit the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios at Disney (taking away the travel time between parks). Sure you could hit some highlights, but as far as missing anything? Yes, obviously you'll be missing out on a lot of attractions and even more of the relaxed atmosphere that makes Universal such a superior resort to Disney due to commando attacking as many feature attractions as possible - not to mention CityWalk which you'll be passing right through on the way to and from the parks.

Try to tear yourself away from the Motherland, and stay onsite at Universal. You'll get two days of FOTL,except for CabanaBay,and you'll feel spoiled beyond belief.Give it a try if you can-you won't regret it!
