I found a great website to create t-shirts for the whole family for our trip in May (I wanted to give them all as Christmas presents) but the photo I downloaded from the internet was copyrighted so the website would not print the shirts. Does anyone have a good site where you can personalize shirts using a nice Disney photo? I was using the one (I'm sure everyone has seen it!) of the whole Disney gang - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy - all huddled together. And then I was able to add my own information, like the names and date of the trip.

Thanx!

Disneyshopping has some shirts that can be personalized. (I think it's actually done through zazzle.)

Also, if you check out the DisSigns board here, there are great ideas for making your own shirts.

You are already on the absolutely best site for creating personalized Disney t-shirts. The DISigners rock. Go to the main forums page and scroll down to the bottom in the Just For Fun section. At the bottom of that section, you'll find the DISign board. A lot of wonderful people there. You can either look for the gallery in the sticky or you can click on the individual designers request thread. They usually have a link in their signature that will take you to their own design gallery. Browse and when you see what you want just post your request. If you don't see what you want, ask and someone will probably be able to either design it for you or show you where it already is. Best of all ... these fabulous, generous people do it all for free. Of course, you could make a small donation to help defray the costs of their design gallery website, but it isn't required.

Have fun browsing.

Thank you ALL - I may have found my shirts already!!!! As for doing your own iron-ons. How well do those hold up??? And what do you need to actually do it?

Go to a craft store like Michaels and get yourself a T-Shirt Transfer pack. It is a simple iron on. The package will give you a website to go to for making the shirt, but I just printed the picture I got from the Dis' onto the iron-on and it worked just fine. You can also buy cheap shirts there for $2.50 on sale. Get the transfer pack for "Dark Fabrics" if you buy any other color than white shirts. Works much better.
We did this for our Halloween Disney trip and the shirts have held up just fine through the wash. :thumbsup2

They hold up very well as long as you don't wash them in hot water. You can find transfer paper at any craft/fabric store or the craft section of Wal-Mart. You can get the paper for white tees or dark tees. Some people use the dark tees for all their t-shirts because they feel the colors are more vibrant on this paper. Just a couple of things to remember. You'll have to flip your image, so you can print out a mirror image; and if you're using any color shirt other than white, you'll have to trim around the design or the whire background will show up on your colored shirt. May not be a big deal, but it may play a role in your decision if it'll mean a lot of detailed cut-outs. Don't worry though. The intructions are on the transfer sheet package.

Another thing to think about, especially if you're wanting to wear the shirts more than once, would be to splurge a little and get plain t-shirts from some place like Kohl's or Old Navy (rather than ones from craft stores). We did this for our MNSSHP shirts and I felt like they were far more comfortable than the itchy ones I've gotten before from Michaels. Just something to consider.

Check your directions - mine told me not to flip because once printed, the back part peals off. Then you lay the image face up on the shirt and place of piece of parchment paper (provided in the pack) over the image and iron away.

So, yes, definitely follow the directions on the package. My fabric sheets tell me not to flip, but the regular transfer sheets I have do instruct me to flip them. Just shows not all transfer sheets are the same.

Thanks for pointing that out.
