BF and I will be in London June 1-6, 2009. We are trying to decide between 3 hotels :confused3
1. Marriott County Hall at Waterloo/Westminster Stations
2. The Rubens at the Palace at Victoria Station
3. K&K George at Earls Court Station

Can someone make recommendation on these hotels and areas of the city. We will do the typical London sights/museums as well as Windsor and possibly Oxford and Wimbledon. :yay:

We will be arriving via EuroStar from Paris at St. Pancras and will depart from Gatwick.

All friendly DIS help is appreciated!

OK, I'm not sure how much help I'll be but as no-one else has replied I'll give you my view.

I haven't stayed at any of these hotels and I don't know Earl's Court at all but looking at what you want to do I'd say it would be slightly easier to be near to Victoria than to be near Waterloo.

The Gatwick train leaves from Victoria.
The Oxford trains go from Paddington.
Some Windsor trains go from Paddington and some from Waterloo.
There are no changes on the underground between St. Pancras and Victoria, at least one change between St. Pancras and Waterloo.
You can get an underground train from Victoria to Wimbledon but there is a mainline train service from Waterloo to Wimbledon.

So you can see not much difference. Go for the price and location that appeals to you. From the Reubens you are just across the road from the Royal Mews and around the corner from Buckingham palace and a short walk from Victoria Station.

At County Hall you are right by the River Thames, just across the river from the Houses of Parliament (and Big Ben) and next to the London Eye. You are very close to Waterloo Station.

Hopefully someone who know's Earl's Court too will be able to give you better advice.
