I paid my deposit on my package almost a year ago - not on a Disney Visa. (I didn't have one at the time) My travel agent was on top of things this morning and switched me to the free dining today - and I actually had her switch the dates slightly as well. She said that they never asked her for my Disney Visa to put a new deposit down. Should I be worried??? Obviously I'll pay the balance on the Disney Visa but should I be concerned in any way about the fact that Disney didn't seem to care that my original dpst wasn't on the Disney card?? I really don't want to question her (my travel agent) about it b/c I don't want her to think I don't trust her or anything. But at the same time, I'm nervous maybe the Disney CM did'nt do something right.

THANKS!

I would just ask my TA to double check the deposit thing. Just tell her that if need be you can put x amount of dollars on the Visa today as a payment towards your trip. I can't imagine that she would be offended in any way.

Last year you had to put an addditional deposit down using the Disney Visa. I would call your TA back and have her make an additional payment just in case.

Congrats! Enjoy your free dining!:woohoo:

I had already made my deposit and it was not on my Disney Visa. The cm said that I would have to put $200 on my visa. Then as we went through she forgot about it. I had to remind her and she said good catch because it might have been cancelled. I would pay $200 just to be careful. I just applied the other $200 to my balance.

If you had already made the deposit, why would you need to make another deposit?

In order to get the Disney Visa Discount the deposit has to be made on a Disney Visa Card. If a guest put the deposit on another card and now wants the Disney Visa Discount, they need to put another $200 on the Disney Visa Card. It's just a $200 payment towards the balance so it's not exactly a deposit. In the case of the OP, a $200 payment should have been put on the Disney Visa Card. It sounds like someone at Disney as well as the TA made an error in this case.

OP, I would strongly recommend having your TA post a $200 payment on your Disney Visa Card just to be sure you are covered.

I switched a room only reservation to a Disney Visa package and when it came to the payment part, the CM asked me if I wanted to leave the deposit difference on my Discover Card. I had to remind him that I was supposed to pay with the Visa. Kind of get the feeling that it wouldn't have made a difference.

Now that doesn't make sense at all. When you go from a Room Only Reservation to a package, they are supposed to refund the full amount of the money already paid and then charge you the $200 deposit for the package. I have always been told by Disney that they cannot move money from a Room Only Reservation to a Package. Maybe something has changed????

I think he actually cancelled the room only and refunded that deposit and then rebooked the package. I think he just meant did I want to put the package desposit on my Discover, because that was the card I had used before. He wasn't even going to ask me for my Disney Visa number.
