I've been waiting, waiting, waiting,........... Specifically, looking to rent one at Union Station in Washington, DC. Any advice? The only discount I've found is Entertaiment Club and it's still unbelievably high!!! The airports are reasonable, but there are no airports reasonably close to the train station.

If you can get a minivan for under $20 per day with all taxes and fees included, you're doing pretty good. Check out mousesavers.com for some possible codes. From what I've experienced, rental car pricing is even more irrational than airline ticket pricing, it can be up and down and all over the place without any particular rhyme or reason. If you see a price you feel you can live with, go ahead and reserve it. Rental agencies don't have any cancellation penalties, so just keep your eye out for a better deal, book it when you find one, and then cancel your first reservation.

So far, the best rate I can find, with Entertainment Club discount is $450/week with 1000 free miles. :rolleyes1

I will say that rental car rates in the D.C. area are not nearly as inexpensive as they are in Orlando. We looked at renting a van here in D.C. once and traveling with it and the cost was outrageous. I do think that you can get a better rate if you rent out of Reagan National Airport or Crystal City, VA.

Can you tell us a little more about your travel plans...are you visiting DC, and will you be using the car right in DC? Will you be traveling out of the District? Are you arriving by train (hence the need for the rental out of Union Station?) Are you game for using the Metro?

From looking at prices and renting a minivan over the past 3 years, if you get a rate under $20/day you'd better grab it yesterday. The lowest price I've seen during that time period was around $179.99 for a week's rental. Most of the time the pricing has been hovering between $199.99 and $249.99.

I would suggest the same thing as gw, check out http://www.mousesavers.com and go to the Disney Transportation section of the site. There you will find codes for all of the major rental agencies in the Orlando area.

We've had good luck with Dollar in the past. You can usually end up with a Dodge Grand Caravan out of them.
