Help! Disney with no kids!

GF would be a beautiful place to spend your vacation as they have some really neat things they could do for you, such as the mother-to-be massage. You can find more info about that here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortsSpaExtendedDetail

Congratulations on your new baby.:cloud9:

I don't think my wife and I would fee comfortable taking a trip to Disney without DD3. We'd feel too guilty leaving her behind knowing that it's her favorite place in the world. She's been there every year since she's been born and we plan the tradition of a yearly visit until she either no longer likes it or decides to do something else.

I have stayed at SSR, CBR, and POR. So, if they are all the same price, I would definately pick SSR because it is along the lines of a deluxe resort. SSR is big, but so are the other two. SSR is definately nicer than the other two. You get the queen size bed and the extra space with the couch. Plus you get the microwave which is great if you have left- overs. And, don't forget the balcony. I love to sit outside and have my am coffee.

If you don't mind spending the extra $ then I say go for the Contemporary or Poly. It would probably be awesome to stay on the monorail. But I see your point about using that money towards the dining plan. That is probably what I would do because I am all about the food. popcorn::

As a last minute stay you may not have that much choice of resorts! If you do though I would go with WL. Love this place!!

So DH and I have been to Disney probably 5 times with our children (ages 1 and 3). Now we are planning a last minute trip at the end of July to celebrate our Anniversary and my 30th birthday! Any suggestions where to stay? We have only stayed onsite at Pop and Port Orleans Riverside. We are looking for something romantic and relaxing. We want to experience a different side of Disney without our children (though I am feeling guilty for going to their favorite place without them). We want to try a deluxe resort and will probably go for 3 nights. Any ideas/suggestions what to do and where to stay? I will be VERY pregnant then (8 months).

I would suggest the Poly...great atmosphere, great resort...very nice & it's on the monorail. I would also suggest Animal Kingdom and see about a savannah room (walk out in the early morn and watch the animals walk by). Any place in Epcot would be a great place to have dinner (romantic - try Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada. Great food and atmosphere! Enjoy!

Once again thanks for all the advice! I think we've found a solution. There was no availability at Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom, but we did find a nice DVC owner who worked hard to find something at Boardwalk for an outstanding price. However there was only availability for two nights, so I think we'll still go for three nights and try a different resort for one night. Also it's nice b/c then we can get the DDP without having to buy park tickets. Does anyone know what the difference is between DDP and the Deluxe Plan? I tried reading the Dining threads and can't seem to find the answer.

I can't help you with info on the dining plan, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad you can get the boardwalk for 2 nights! We've never stayed in the villas/DVC, but we have stayed at all the resorts/hotels in Epcot and we just love that area. I can't imagine you'll be disappointed! Good luck and have fun!

You will love the Boardwalk! That's where we stayed for our 15th anniversary trip. You should look into a concierge room at the BWI for that last night, the staff there is awesome!

DH & I stayed at WL in April for a relaxing mini-vacation. It was wonderful. We had a king bed room on the ground floor with a patio facing the pool area. It was quiet, could take afternoon naps & not hear anything from the pool area. We had dinner at WCC because it's one of our most favorite things to do, and then dinner at CP the next night. We spent one whole afternoon visiting the Contemporary and the Poly just to see how they looked. Then we decided we liked the WL alot better than both of those resorts.

We're going back in September for our 23rd anniversary and my DH wanted to try AKL as this will be the last time we go back for awhile since the AP's are expiring. We've been to WDW for 5 mini-vacations since last September and have managed to try a different resort each time. The WL was very special for us and was very, very relaxing.

Maybe you could try the Poly for one night. We spent our 32nd anniversary there last year without our DDs and they're old college kids(who were not pleased we left them at home, but we're going in 29 days with everyone).
Very romantic to walk along the lagoon with the luau music in the background or watching Wishes from the beach. We didn't do DDP but bought the DDE card instead and had dinner at Kona's, Olivia's at OKW and Boma, would like to try Jikos next time we go without kids.

Last year was the first vacation we had taken without our kids in almost 7 years. Enjoy your time together, maybe you'll still be there when we go to the Poly to watch Wishes and have Dole Whip on Aug 2.:cloud9:

I'm getting more excited for our trip. Then to add drama to my life, we found a house to buy yesterday and the seller wants to close by the end of this month! That means I have to sell my house and move by the end of the month, too! We decided we're not cancelling this trip though. We need a vacation! Thank you again for all the suggestions and answers to questions.

Hello there and happy anniversary. I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Concierge and Grand Floridian Concierge which are rated the best resorts on Disney. I by far would suggest the Grand Floridian over Wilderness Lodge if you are looking for the romantic factor. As you may know Disneys Grand Floridian is Victorian style and has a spa and health club. Though the Wilderness Lodge is not as romantic, the Wilderness Lodge offers a honeymoon suite which the concierge were so kind to show me. Both resorts are nice in differentr ways. It all depends on whether you want snobby versus homy

CSR might be a good choice too. It's not a deluxe but they do offer massages, have a salon and fitness center and have a dance club on site. It's a very romantic resort and is beautiful at night.

sounds like a great idea to do Boardwalk for 2 nights and Poly for 1. We are doing a no kids anniversary trip in October and are staying at the Boardwalk because it is close to Epcot and all of those great restaurants.

Congrats on your pregnancy and hope everything is going well. Do you know what you are having? I would suggest the WL. It is very relaxing and has some private nooks. The lobby is impressive and the elevator is speedy. However, since you are well into your third trimester, the monorail hotels would probably be more beneficial and the bus rides can be quite bumpy. Not so sure that would be a good thing for you at this point. With that said, I would pick a hotel that everything is under one roof so that you don't have to walk so far to get from point A to point B. I would pick the CR. You get monorail access and if you are in the Tower, you are only an elevator ride from the monorail. Not very romantic though. If you are willing to do concierge, then I would pick the GF. I believe there is one concierge level that is in the main building. Just some food for thought.
