Please help, I can't seem to get a certain answer on this:

For our annual WDW vacation in October, I am thinking about using my DVC for 3 nights at SSR, then purchasing 3 nights at the POLY. DVC reservations says I would have to purchase a separate Park Hopper Tickets for the 3 nights at DVC, and for the 3 nights paid ressie, as the only way to get the dining on the paid ressie is the get a MYW package with Park Hopper and Dining. This would not be good as you loose the multi-day discount on the park tickets.

It seems to me that I could do the following:

Purchase a 7 Day WDW Park Hopper separately
Purchase a 3 night Deluxe dining plan for the SSR stay through DVC
Purchase a 3 night Deluxe dining plan for the paid ressie through central reservations as I will have a 7 day Park Hopper

Is this theory correct, or is the only way to get Disney Dining by purchasing a MYW package with tickets and dining???

Anyone know?
Thanks.

You are fine with the DVC SSR stay. You can simply add on the DDP. No ticket purchase needed. Not sure about the information given.

The Poly. Without points? Ie. You are not using DVC points to book, correct? You do need to purchase park tickets directly through Disney to get the DDP. It can be as little as a one day ticket. They don't care if you have tickets, bought seperately, on hand. You need to buy tickets directly from Disney tied to the Poly reservation to get the DDP.

If you can do the Poly first part of vacation. Easy. Buy the # of days you want and use them when you are at SSR.

Have fun.

If you are doing your Polynesian stay after your DVC stay, you will have to purchase tickets twice. Once for each stay. If you add the Polynesian stay to before your DVC stay, you would be able to purchase a longer stay ticket for your required ticket purchase for the package and use that ticket for your DVC stay.

No matter what happens with your DVC stay, you will have to purchase a ticket for the stay at the Polynesian if you intend to do the dining plan at that resort. No way around it.

Thanks for your replies! I think I figured it out.

I went to Disneyworld.com and built a vacation package with 3 nights at the POLY, and a 7 day park hopper (some of which I will use while at SSR on points). It allowed me to put 3 nights world of Dining Plan on the paid package. Then I could just pay for the remaining 3 nights directly to DVC upon checkin at SSR.

Right? Or am I wrong?

Correct, as long as you do the cash stay at the Poly first, then do the DVC stay.

OK, let me try....
we are doing one night at SSR for cash and then 6 nights on points.
I get, say, a 6 day hopper. I can get one night DDP put on it since I am paying cash the first night. Then I can add the other 6 nights through DVC.
Am I correct?

There is a 3 night minimum for Disney Packages so you will not be able to add the DDP to your first cash night.

There is no such minimum for DVC stays on points.

If your cash night is reserved through member services, the reservations will be linked, assuming it is the same room type. They will beconsidered one reservation, so the DDP would be for all nights, and it would not matter what kind of ticket media you have.

If your cash night is booked through a Disney Travel/CRO then the DDP can not be added to only a single night..

Will you be returning within the year? If so, maybe you would benefit from purchasing an AP. AP holders can purchase DDP now without it being part of a MYW package. It may not be cost effective though unless you can use it at least 10 days.
