We had a fabulous trip to the Poly May 8-12, but now I am noticing a $354.25 charge to my card on file from WDW Resorts. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is, and I would remember something this expensive. The only thing that even came close was our Ohana dinner the night before, and I can see that on the statement marked as Ohana. Any ideas what it might be, and who the heck do I call to dispute it??

Background: we stayed at the Poly using points via Dave’s DVC. Room was fully paid in advance and had Disney Visa linked to MDE. Disney Visa was charged May 12 (day we checked out) and hit the card 5/15.

I’m thinking of calling the Poly but not sure that is the route to go…

Did you charge to the room at all? Any meals or shopping? If you charged to the room, that all shows up as 1 charge to your CC.

Son of a biscuit - that’s it. Allllllllllll the booze (d&mn you Oasis pool bar) and every time we tapped for food.

Next trip - get the booze delivered from Amazon upon arrival! We didn’t bother until our third day - probably $200 of it right there 😬

Thanks guys!!!!
Glad you figured it out but also sort of surprised you had to ask. Did you not know when you tapped for food that it was charging to the room? I’m curious how you thought it was being paid. It does add up fast

As convenient as the magic bands are, I feel like they cause me to spend more because you don't really think about it ya know? Just tap and POOF! I also prefer seeing individual identifiable charges showing up on my card statement. I really should use the card more than my band...but convenience dangit!!

See to me they are the exact same, easy and convenient
Scan band, tip and sign
Scan card, tip and sign
I see the amount with each
I don’t regularly check my credit card charges daily

We've been receiving email copies of our resort folio early on checkout mornings, and we also follow our resort folio in MDE so that we can monitor our MB charges. It's surprising how those MB charges add up!

When you scan the band, won't you only see the amount for that specific purchase if you look through your hotel bill?
If you use your credit card, the individual purchase will appear on your credit card transaction.

I don't check my card charges daily either. At the end pf the trip I'll have "batch" charges as the hotel charges things to the card and then some individual charges. It gets confusing when you look at the bank statement.

The individual are on the hotel charges in MDE so you can see them if you wanted to. Which is my only point. To me MB and credit card per much with the same at Disney if you checked daily to wanted to watch spending

Yes and you see it on your physical receipt so you should never not know the charged amount

I'm not going to argue with you, other than to say the way things are listed on the folio can get a little confusing, as is the need to compare your folio to the credit card statement. But you do you.

Fine but no matter what you had to sign a credit card slip, especially for food, or machine. So you still have no excuse for not knowing what you’ve charged. I don’t understand how OP was unaware or forgot they charged stuff is all

Agreed. Disney isn't like an all-inclusive place in the Caribbean where you pay one fee and that includes everything. Even when they had the dining plan - about as close as they came to AI - poolside drinks would not have been covered under it.

It was 300+ dollars of alcohol wasn’t it. Sounds like a pretty decent reason not to remember…
