This is our first trip with children under the age of 3 and just want to be prepared. We have all of the character meals reserved. On the 2 family style restaurants the ones under 3 will not be charged, correct? Hollywood and Vine Minnie's seasonal meal looks like a fixed price menu, will they charge us for the ones that are 2 and under? Of course anything we order for them at quick service will be charged? My daughters all had children at the same time, therefore traveling with 6 kids that are 2 and under. I am sure this trip will be very different than the usual adult trips!

At a family style or buffet meal children two and under are free. At a table service or quick service restaurant your child can eat from your plate, but you cannot order a separate meal for them free.

When I traveled with twin 2-year olds, my biggest observation was to make sure to bring lots of snacks with to the parks. They were more "grazers" than big meal eaters. So, you might be able to just order an adult meal at the QS restaurants and let them graze a bit off of the adults plates.

when our kids were young, this is what we did.
Snacks and things to keep them occupied while we were eating we very important. We were able to do a few signature meals with the kids, but intentionally didn't do many as their attention span wasn't that good.
In every restaurant, the staff we awesome. They'd see the young kids and bring out bread or crackers, something for them to snack on until the food arrived.

If you order for them, you probably will be charged for whatever you order. Otherwise, they just eat what you eat.

They will not be charged at the buffet/family style, as others noted. You will need to pay for anything ordered at QS, no matter who eats it or how old they are.

Definitely take some snacks. My young kiddos did MUCH better in the parks if we kept snacks on hand rather than trying to find something once they were hungry! We would also share our plates with them and add a few snacks to make a meal - like a little of our entrée plus an applesauce pouch, etc. Taking snacks in isn't difficult when you still have a stroller to toss them in.
