help diagnose what's wrong--3 day low grade fever for me

I don't know if I am starting the change or what...I started having a low grade fever ('you're a little warm') Sunday--it's been better and it's been worse--last night at 12:30 I woke up freezing cold, came down and made sure the furnace was on, but an hour later I was boiling hot. This morning my arms feel really, REALLY hot. Not enough to miss work but I'm uncomfortable. The only other symptom was that Sunday my face was red and blotchy until later in the day, and Monday evening I looked sunburned on the face even though I hadn't been in the sun. That could also be fever related. Any ideas?

Have no idea but I would call the dr. just to check. I think a fever often comes with some sort of an infection.

I agree, sounds like an infection to me. Get to the doc quickly. My son had cellulitis and I just thought he had a rash. They had to do a spinal on him. So don't delay.

If you don't want to go to the doctor's, at least call them with your symptoms. They may tell you that you need to come in anyway, and at least they'll make a note of it in your chart for future reference.

Do you have any joint pain? Could be Lupus. Have you ever been tested for that or do you have any other autoimmune problems?

I would definately touch base with your Dr. because as you can see by the replies it could be virtually anything.....or nothin at all

Did you take your temperature? Only real way to know if you had an actual fever.
I am having lots of 'feeling hot' episodes now... Just had a partial thyroidectomy two weeks ago and I am convinced that is part of the problem. Doc says 'hormones'. sigh.

Sounds like Fifth disease to me. It speading like wildfire though our community. The red slapped cheek look is a classic sign. My child also had a rash on the arms and legs, a low grade fever and it seems to come and go. The bright fresh rash kind of subsides and leaves a lacy looking rash which can kind of fade and reappear.

I recently had a sinus infection and had a 99.8 fever for a couple of days. So maybe you do have some sort of infection. Are you taking anything for it like Motrin?

I had a couple of "hot spells" at work today but things seem better. I was wondering about 5th disease because one of my nieces had it last month, but I didn't know if adults can get it. My doctor has been very hard to get hold of this week! Used to be with 8 in the practice you could see someone else, but now they are getting territorial and if your dr. isn't available they want you to wait until he is (which usually means not after 3:00, which is when I can get there). But I"ll keep trying. I have so many weird little symptoms I don't usually have.

My son ran a fever on an off for a few days, took him to doctors and he had strep throat.... doctor said you don't always have a sore throat with strep.

Well I started to feel hot again in the car at DD#2's soccer practice. Still warm but I took a shower and took 2 ibuprofen and feel a little better. I am going to break down and call the doctor tomorrow and see if I can get in tomorrow or Friday. I have group projects tomorrow at school so I hope Friday is open.

Sounds as though you are having an allergic reaction to something.. could be hives. I'd go to the doctor.
