Hi everybody!

I'm a 3rd grade teacher and the beginning of school year is almost upon me. Well, I would like to decorate my room with Disney things. Does anybody know of anyplace that sells Disney wall decor???

My class last year knew I was a Disney pin collector (I brought several parts of my collection to school for Show & Tell). And on the last day of school, I gave each child a pin (from my hidden mickey collection). You would have thought I gave each of them a piece of gold!

A couple of my girls came up to me during the last week of school and suggested that I decorate my room with Disney stuff. As one said "Its what you love and you made us love it too!"

So.....any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm going to start at Party City, but any place else???

Thanks in advance!
Chris

I just saw a post that I want to share with you. It was a Diser that was positioned perfectly in front of two large black circles. Yep -- it makes you have perfect Mickey ears for picture taking. Might be a fun way to remember the children's name the first few days of school.

Our dollar store has mickey and Minnie goodies every now and then.
Such as pencils, tablets, rulers, stuff like that.

I might also go to pintrest and check out some of the Disney sites.

You sound like a "fun " teacher that all the kids love. My grandson had a 2nd grade teacher that bought gifts for each of her students at Christmas. She used a simple trick to make sure each gift was wrapped-- she had the kids do it. Boys wrapped the girls and vise versa.

Have a great school year. Bless the teachers as you help raise our future.

How fun! Maybe a Mickey inspired room so if you are covering a wall with red paper, trim in black. You can get or make cut outs in the shape of Mickey or Minnie and use that as background. You can have so much fun with it!

You can get some great wall decals from etsy :thumbsup2

For a social studies unit how about incorporating its a small world? I had a friend theme her nursery around this. She painted the lyrics to one of the verses on the wall going around the room with some freehand painted small world children. It was unique and adorable. You could do a whole IASW bulletin board. You could have the kids report on their ancestry or chose a country to learn about.

For science, you could do a board with Disney animals (Lion King, a bug's life, Jungle Book, etc.)

For reading and writing, how about a board with the words "Once upon a time..."

And the alphabet with Disney characters: A Aladdin B Baloo C Cinderella etc. look at the board game Disney Scrabble Junior for inspiration.

If your kids sit in table groups, you could name the groups after the different lands. The Toontown table, Adventureland table, etc. Hang a sign above each table grouping with the land printed in the appropriate font (easy to find online for free.)

Thinking about the possibilities makes me want to decorate with you! Have fun!

...and decorate my classroom in Disney. However, since I am middle school, mine is a bit understated. I do lots of three-circle Mickey heads in different sizes all over the room, and in each one I put quotations from Walt.

I also call my kids Imagineers. I explain the word, and make everything about being creative. Our class norms are called our Imagineers' Code. We have award tickets that are Proud Imagineer tickets that can be redeemed for prizes.
