My eleven year old DD sprayed windex on my TV and now I have no sound and my TV will not turn off. What do I do? She was only trying to help so I am trying to remain calm.

Oh my! :o Not a clue how to help if she got it into the electronic components, but you could of course always just unplug the tv from the wall to turn it off. That still doesn't help you in fixing it however. Yikes. Good luck!

Unplug the TV and let it sit for several hours so that the Windex that got into the set has a chance to dry. Theres a good chance it will work just fine once everything drys out.

My lovely DD did that before too...I think my wonderful DH had to get the hairdryer out or the vacuum hose and suck up all of the windex...hurry!....(I think if you let it sit it will corrode) not an expert, but speaking from experience .

We had this happen recently too. Like WDWHound said unplug the TV and let it dry. That is what worked for us.

Yes, moisture and electronics are a dangerous mix...

Unplug the set ASAP and make sure everything has had time to dry out before attempting to turn it back on. The hair dryer thing isn't a bad idea. It will help decrease the potential for corrosion.

A very big THANK YOU to everyone. Did just that and TV seems to be fine.
