Help dates in june/july thanks

Hi all
We are doing a split stay and our dates should be 17th June for 7 nights then off to DW for 14 nights.

I'm really hoping that we manage our dates for the new HP to be open,
Anyways were a family if 6 and will stay at the new resort as its way cheaper we. Will then book a night at HRH so we can get express pass for 5 for 2 days, my mum is 80 and will not be doing the parks!!
We also will get the guest assistance pass for my son with autism,
We've done universal arks loads but only ever on September/October!
Soooo

How busy is this time of year?
What times are we looking at for Qs?

Would it be worth booking the HRH for the night to get the passes?

We could change the dates around to do disney 1 st and Universal 2nd from the 30th till the 6th,
Would this be better ?

And what are our chances if doing universal 1st from 17th of the HP2 being open?

The parks are busy,MUCH busier than the low crowds of September, and with the opening of HP , they will be busier.Staying at HRH to get the express passes will help with the general park crowds and rides.Doubtful the exprss pass will help you much with the HP expansion( considering that its been almost 4 yrs and Forbidden Journey still doesnt have express pass).I am doubtful Diagon alley will offer express pass .Early Entry however, will definitely help you with the crowds.As far as your dates, at this point there is no firm date on opening.Just Summer 2014, and that can be anywhere from June to Mid-Sept by the calendar.There is supposed to be an update on Jan 23rd about the expansion, so we should know a little more hopefully

If it was me I would do Disney first so that you will have a better chance of HP2 being open. But I imaging crowds will be worse so I would probably do the one night at HRH for Friday/ Saturday crowds.

Wait times for headliners 60-90mins roughly with lower crowds in the early morning and late evenings

I read an article on Orlando Insider and it said US have given blue blocked out dates starting June 14. They suspect HP 2 will be Opening around then. I really hope so as we check in June 15!

We've been contemplating adding 1 day to our disney vacation.... but it would be June 14-June 15. We've always wanted to do Harry Potter (we haven't been to the original) and we are major fans...

But if that is true it will be chaos right? Am I crazy??

Summer is busy at Unviersal in general. With the opening of Harry Potter expansion I would expect it to be insane
