My parents want to give us a gift of the flight & hotel to go to Disney with them & my sister & her family.

Our only expense would be tickets, food & gifts.

My sister won't pull her son out of school (& other child not in school), so June, July & Aug are our options. Well of course I want it as early in June as possible (praying that some kids are still in school).

My husband is worried about standing in lines for 2 hours in 100 degree heat.:headache:

We went in April of 2006 & waited in some lines for 1-1/2 hours & it was hot 90-95 every day (but by 4 couldn't swim, it was too cold)

Anyway, give some ammunition to help me convince him to go......please:worship: He is also worried about taking the trip during this economy - but short of a miracle, I don't think you can help on that!:lmao:

What great parents you have!!

Pick up a good travel book that he can read that has preplanned tour guides, including when to pick up your Fastpasses so you aren't standing around all day.

I have the passporter book which is great because it has the tour guides on the back side of a fold out map, and pockets in the back hold important trip stuff. It's lightweight and meant to take along.

Maybe if you put him in charge of planning the touring he can come up with a plan that puts his fears at ease.

We have gone the last week in June and can promise you and your husband that if you plan in advance you will not need to wait in long lines. Go to tourguidemike.com and use his advice to plan what parks to see on which days and you will never wait in line more than 15 minutes. You will have so much fun!:)

We went during spring break this year and used Tour Guide Mike and we didn't wait in long lines at all. We actually had fast passes to give away when we left the park!

As for your time of year, I have only been in mid August and Feburary. But I would imagine that the earlier the better. We are going in March this year and are really looking forward to it.

As for the tourbook idea. I hightly recommend this as well. I too, have the passporter and I love it. I actually have three from our last three visits. I to plan on buying one for our next trip. I have also read good things about TourGuideMike, but have not used it.

We went in June this year and we are going back same time in 2009. I was only bothered maybe once or twice by the heat, but I do live in the south,,,so it's all relative!:lmao: ! But even when we waited in lines, it didn't bother me...I'm not REAL stressed out about lines like some people are...I'm not really helping...it just really takes planning and with free air and room...you couldn't stop me!:thumbsup2

"with free air and room...you couldn't stop me!"

MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY. I can't even believe that he is actually undecided to go. He love it last time (April 06), we then ventured a California trip w/DL of course - and loved that as well.

I understand where he is coming from, but again back to the free air & room thing........

Keep the good advice & ammunition coming:woohoo:

We have gone twice...both in June..because I don't want to take the kids out of school. Like other posters....with planning and using fast passes the lines really aren't that bad. I don't think we ever stood in line for more than 30 minutes for a ride.

Because of the temps a lot of people thought we were crazy for going in June instead of taking the kids out of school and going when it's cooler....my response was always...ya know what...I can be HOT at Disney World or HOT at home...It's gonna be warm wherever you are....might as well spend some time with Mickey. :-)

I would tell my DH, that if we didn't go he would have to explain to DD....

That would be enough to get mine to go! He could never upset my DD like that... Good Luck!!

We went in late August, just before school started in NY. It was value season, so rates weren't at their highest.

The ONLY time we waited 90 minutes for anything was the day we went to Hollywood Studios. Like an idiot, I insited on doing laundry and we didn't ge there till almost noon. They were out of fastpasses.

Other than that, we waited 20 minutes max for any ride. We followed the suggestions in www.touringplans.com We didn't stick to them to the letter, but used them as guidelines. (soomeone suggested tourguide Mike. I found his site kind of a pain to navigate. If I were going again, I think I would stick with touringplans.com. )

Invest in some Mistymate misters. (We got them at BJs, at 3/$15.) They were a GOdsend!!!

Have a great trip!!!
