We are trying to decide between the Contemporary v. WL (7 days w/ FTP in early October). We have 2 little boys (2 1/2 and 4) so we need a place that has good transportation. We like the convenience of and size of the rooms at CR but like the theming much better at WL.

I would appreciate any advice regarding which is better for little ones.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

We've stayed at WL twice. It's my son's favorite resort (he was just 7 and nearly 9 when we stayed there). I agree that it's a great resort, but I was less than happy with having to share buses with Fort Wilderness the last trip...it really added a lot of time to transport. If transportation is really high on your list of what you want, then I'd go for the Contemporary instead. -HM

The boats were great and if you really plan to spend most of your time at MK, then the long bus rides might not make that much difference to you. I just returned from WL with two boys, ages 4 and 3. They loved it. The theming is incredible and they could not get enough of hanging out in the lobby. They really enjoyed the Whispering Canyon (breakfast and dinner) and the pool (with rock slide). Other than dining at Chef Mickey's I know very little about the Contemporary. To me, it didn't have the "warm feel" of WL. Transportation was not a problem for us. We were always on the first boat to MK which ran direct. The return boat usually stopped at FW first. WL was also the first stop for the morning buses before taking off to FW. I can't wait to return.

We have stayed at WL without children and at CR with a 2yo. Theming at WL is definitely better, but being able to walk to MK from CR was wonderful! Plus, two quick monorail rides to Epcot (the ramps are connected such that you don't have to walk all the way down and back to make the transfer), and you can take the monorail to Poly and GF, and the boat to WL and FW (take the boys to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe, or to the petting zoo at FW). And the rooms at CR are MUCH bigger.

On the other hand, if it matters to your 3yo, there is no kiddie pool at CR---I don't remember specifically, but I assume there was one at WL.

There is indeed a kiddie pool at WL, as well as a small playground on the beach.

Any other opinions? This is exactly my dilemma too! I thought I had it all figured out, but I looked again and now we're torn . . . please tell us more.
