Hi,

I had been planning a sneaky trip for me and DH for my birthday, which is also Valentines day, leaving my teenage kids with my mum for the weekend.:cool1:

I now seem to be going in march with my friend, and leaving DH and the kids at home.:confused3

I have DVC points to use or lose before the end of may 2009, so I thought I could go and splurge them at the Disneyland hotel, I found cheap crossing with eurostar and the whole trip would cost £450, but DH is worried that we will be taking money from the trip to WDW we have booked for October.

We have the spare money, but he can't see it. So I was talking to my friend about it last week, and she said that she would love to come if he didn't want to! I think we started off joking, but then she got more serious, and I thought she would probably back out when she thought more about it. She rang yesterday to ask if we could go in march instead of february, and that she really wanted to go and was looking forward to it!

So what is the first weekend in march like? I haven't been to DLP since January 2005, and it has gotten more and more popular over that time. We are going friday 6th to monday 9th March, by eurostar.

Please help, I am starting to wonder if I am doing the right thing.

I went for the day in March this year and to be honest it wasn't really busy, just normal crowds.

I'd have thought that the weekends would be quite busy. Mid-week would be rather quiet.

All of the weekends in March are the 2nd highest price for some reason :confused3

I have a feeling its because the 15th anniversary celebrations are ending & they are then switching over to the Mickey Magical thing

Thanks for the replies.:thumbsup2

I tried to get her to go in the week, but she would miss work, so friday to monday it is.

I didn't realise that was when the 15 anniversary celebrations finished, wonder if it will be really busy?

We have been in march, and it wasn't that bad, but that was years ago, so I don't know what to expect?:confused3

I just couldn't turn down a trip that will have us staying in either the DLH or the hotel new york for 3 nights and 4 days for less than £250 each, am I mad?

You are not mad! I'm paying £576 for 4 days in January to stay at the DLH and thats just for me and my little girl.

I would jump at the chance to stay in HNY or DLH for that length & price:goodvibes

Thanks for the encouragement.:thumbsup2

We will be staying at the Hotel New York, we could have had a day at the Disneyland, but my friend didn't want to change hotels during the trip. :sad2:

The weekend we are there is the last 2 days of the 15th celebration and the Welsh festival thing, so I think it will be busy, but that is the weekend my friend is determined to go:confused3 I told her about them being on, and she wasn't bothered at all, but then she told me she doesn't do mornings on holiday!:scared1: I soon told her that we would be out doing EMH everyday to make up for the expected crowds.:lmao:

It sounds like we will be going from Ebbsfleet, not Ashford, as the price from Ashford was about £30 extra each way:confused: So we will be on the indirect trains, calling at Lille, has anyone done this route? What is it like, both at Ebbsfleet and having the stopover in Lille?

Thanks.
