We are going to WDW 10/2-10/12 2004. I have already purchased 5 day bonus passes to Universal ( for the same price as 2 day passes) and 4 day park hopper to Disney. I have a chance to swap out my 4 day passes to WDW for 5 day, but this will put me in Disney World very close to Columbus day weekend. We were there on the Thursday before Columbus day last year and it was so crowded that we only got to ride 3 rides all day. Do I risk it this year and go for the 5 day passes or can we enjoy Disney in only 4? What would you do?

BTW We plan to go to Disney Sunday, Monday, Tuesday Wedensday.

Universal Studios-Thurdsday, Friday, Satrurday, Sunday and Monday. I am willing to give up one day at Universal (must be 5 consecutive days) for a day at Disney if we can enjoy with out the waits, etc. so close to Columbus Day.

I'm not sure if I completely understand your question. Do you mean you would only use 4 of your 5 days at Universal and buy an extra day at WDW if you're sure it's worth it wait-time-wise?

I've never been to Universal, so I don't know what you can do for 5 days there. Also - I don't know how the lines would be any different between Universal and Disney. When we were there a couple years ago at that time, we didn't notice the crowds increasing until the weekend - so if you switch one day, I'd switch the Thurs. You could maybe do the least popular attractions on that day and get most of the big ones in on your first few days. If you follow some good planning rules (get the Unofficial Guide), you should be able to get in a LOT more than 3 attractions on any day of that week.

We arrive on the 3rd!! Have a great time!

I was wondering when the crowds clear out after Columbus Weekend. We arrive on Sunday and know that Sunday and Monday will be extremely crowded. However, should we expect to see a drastic decrease in the crowds on Tuesday????

We arrived on Columbus Day last year, and stayed til Saturday. It was GREAT!!! I got a little worried after reading about crowds, but the days we were at the parks, almost everything was a walk on!! At most, maybe a 5 minute wait!!! (It was just me, DH & youngest DD - and she doesn't like any of the "mountain" rides, so we didn't do any of those)

It was a great time to visit - and we loved the Halloween Party!

We're going back for Christmas this year though! Christmas is my favorite time to visit!!!
