Not sure it matters, we need to rent a van for the first week in March, three kids two I would like to have booster seats at least for they are 5 and 6 and the oldest is 10 so doesn't need one, and we have 3 adults, so 6 people.

We are most likely flying into LGB airport.
Would you just go with the cheapest company?
Is it better to book the car with the flights or separately?

We fly into LGB friday. I booked through priceline and it was cheaper than my AAA rate that I originally had. Are you bringing the booster seats on the plane for the kids?

if you fly into LGB and do priceline to pick up a car on-site at the airport, then the company would be one of the following: avis, budget, enterprise, hertz, or national...all pretty good, i think. we did priceline and it ended up being cheaper than booking the car with the flight/hotel. you just gotta shop around and do the math. the thing with priceline (and probably hotwire, too) is that you pay upfront for the rental...so if you need to cancel, you'd lose out on that money.

I do not plan to bring their seats. I want to rent some

I have always had a really great experience with AVIS- especially the facility on Katella. [Javier is always really helpful!] :D

Hope this helps! Good luck on picking one!

Does anyone know if any car rental companies have the fans with the booster seats built in? I'm guessing no, but I'm hoping for a yes.

I would not rent seats. They will charge you $10/day per seat to do so. For boosters, you'll more than pay for the cost of a new one in a few days. And, you do not know what condition they are in (I've known people to get moldy seats, expired seats, or not get a seat at all when they reserved one). Bring your own.

i agree...i would take your own if at all possible. i know it's a bit of a pain to lug the car seat/booster seats, but the safety of your children is more important. we are bringing a car seat for our dd9months and a toddler/booster seat for dd2 (which i just ordered online for a total of $75).

do the airlines charge you for the stowing of them, I would want them checked. No way I could do them carry on.

depends on the airlines i think. for example, we're flying alaska...i just checked their baggage rules and got this off of their website:
Strollers, car seats, and disabled customers' assistive devices do not count towards checked baggage allowance and may be checked without charge.

what airlines are you guys flying?

great, we want to fly Alaska also so that is great news thanks
