well to tell you the truth, having a wet nose is normal, the nose running is not normal. Your cat having trouble breathing is not normal. Im not sure what could cause that but i would deff. call your vet as soon as possible and wouldnt want to wait too long, hope he/she is ok, i love cats :)

is she rattle-y or rasph-y sounding when she breathes? Is she coughing or sneezing? A wet nose is a sign of good heath on dogs, but not cats. She's probably got a nasal drip if shes got a wet nose. Has she been out in cold weather? She's probably got a cold, but take her to the vet. You'd rather it be nothing, than it be something.

having a wet nose on cats is normal, if the nose is running then its not normal.

heres a paragraph from http://www.emeryanimal.net/Education.html about a cold wet nose.

A Cold Wet Nose

A cold, wet nose is one sign of good health in dogs and cats. However, even a healthy pet can have a warm, dry nose on occasion. On the other hand, really sick pets can also have cold, wet noses. What does all this mean? Simply that any one indicator of health is not 100 percent accurate all the time. Sick pets with cold noses should be seen by your veterinarian, and pets with warm, dry noses that are showing other symptoms such as lethargy or not eating should be seen by a doctor.

Have your vet check for cat herpes. In cats, that is a respiatory illness with the symptoms you described. If your cat has it, the illness is very contagious, so if you have other cats, they will probably contract it and if your cat is an outdoor cat, consider not allowing her out where she will spread the illness to other cats (our cat only goes outside supervised in the enclosed back yard). The illness is managable and and will be worse when your cat is under some type of stress. Not every vet will correctly diagnois the symptoms either. Two vets saw my cat before someone figured out what the runny noise and wheezing was.

I volunteer at an animal clinic, and one of the clinic cats had something like that. Fluffs (that's the cat's name) takes Sudafed or something like that. But I would definently (spelling?) take her to a vet.

I would def. take your cat to the vet. It could turn out that it's nothing but, it's better to be safe than sorry.

I couldn't have said it better myself

Good luck to your kitty :paw:

he is getting better i mean like yesterday he wouldnt move off the bed but he is finally moving around my room and all the stuff is coming out of his nose so that must mean it is somewhat clearing up. and b/c of everything coming out of his nose i noticed that he hasnt been breathing throught his mouth as much..........but anything can happen.
