Help - Can you send your luggage to the airport from here?

Evening!!

Will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter in March - was wondering if I will be able to check my luggage and send to airport the last day as they do at the deluxe properties. Haven't stayed at PO in awhile and am not sure what the policy is.

Yes you can as long as you are flying on a participating airline.

We stayed at POR in October and as long as you were with a participating airline, you could check with the TSA at the resort.

What ?? you mean that we can have our luggage taken to the airport, checked and everything from our hotel ????

Yup as long as you use Magical Express and are on one of the participating airlines (I know Delta/Song, United/Ted are on the list). I thought it was the best feature of DME!

Beg to differ - stayed twice at WDW last year (Contemporary and OKW). Both times we didn't use Magical Express (had a rental car) and was still able to check the luggage and send it to the front desk.

Just wanted to make sure that Port Orleans has the same services. Will be using Magical Express this time.

We stayed at POR in September and used ME and flew Continental and checked our bags at the resort the final morning after checking out, went to Epcot, came back & caught the ME bus back to the airport and low and behold saw our luggage again in Tulsa that night! So cool...

Thats right, even if you are not taking ME back to the airport, you can check your luggage in at the Resort Airline Check-in desk at your WDW hotel. We just came back from SSR, had a rental car, and checked our luggage in at 11AM, and drove to the airport for our 3:15PM flight.

Participating Airlines for the RAC desk are:
Continental
American
United/TED
Delta/Song
JetBlue

Ah, but based on information you posted in another thread, you flew DME participating airlines both times.

There seems to be some confusion, maybe because of semantics.

Magical Express is a bus service that takes you between your WDW resort and MCO. For the inbound flight, all airlines participate. That's because there is nothing they need to do regarding ME, you put your tags on the luggage regardless of what airline you are flying (except for international flights).

PARTICIPATING AIRLINES refers ONLY to being able to check your luggage at your resort. Only certain airlines allow this service. This service is NOT part of ME and can be used at ANY WDW resort. It is not a perk of the deluxes only. It can be used by those not taking the ME bus.
