Hello,
We are lucky enough to be able to spend 7 days at DL at the end of the month. The web site only shows park hoppers up to 6 days. When I called the ticket office the cast member said because at 7 days you should just jump to an annual pass.

From my calculations the 6-day park hopper is $251 per adult (there are 4 of us)

An annual pass with our DVC discount is $479. FOR ONE DAY?? We may not be lucky enough to come back within the next year.

Does anyone have any experience with adding one day to a park hopper ticket? What is the cost?

Our other option is a 3-day park hopper for $214 and a 4 day promotional for for $219. At that point we are pretty close to an annual pass.

I appreciate any advise you all have for me. It is a LOT of money for these tickets and I'd like to save a little cash for a Dole Whip or two.

Go to guest relations and explain the situation (need 7 days but wouldn't make use of an AP especially since you are going during a blackout period and would have to get the most expensive pass) and they can add a 7th day for very cheap. Its maybe $10/person...$15 at most.

Thank you for the speedy response. Such good news! I'll go ahead and purchase the 6-day hopper. Worse case I'll have to pop for the full price for the extra day. :santa:

Some friends of ours were able to add an extra day to their 6 day hoppers for $5 a person. That was this past Sunday. Don't be afraid to try a different cast member or to inquire on a different day if you don't like the first response you get! When she inquired on Saturday evening she was told it wasn't possible and they would have to get the $499 AP...the CM must have been new or filling in because she wasn't accurate on much of her info regarding the passes or adding extra days!

YES!! Some CMs are unaware that this can be done so if one tells you know or asks for more than $5-10/person, try someone else.

We too are going to DL from Dec 28th-Jan 4th. My family has Premium APs but my neice will be joining us for the trip and needs to get her pass. Her Mom wants to make sure that she gets the best deal before we go so should I have her purchase the 6 day through GAT and then just upgrade her for 1 day at the ticket windows?

I just want to make sure that we know the right facts before we go then get a surprise with the cost. If the upcharge is only $15 or less that saves alot. I thought she would have to purchase a single day PH for the remaining day...I feel a happy dance coming on!:cool1:

Either way it will save money over the cost of a 1 day PH.

First you need to pay the full price of the 6 day PH. So that may be $20 or more. Then from the full 6 day PH price it will be $5 more to get the 7th day. This is what you should expect. In rare cases CM's forget to charge the difference to get it to full price before adding the upgrade cost.

You don't have to use guest relations you can just use the ticket booths. They added days to our CA city pass and the guest relations told me no and were going to charge me full price. It seemed like the ticket window people had more experience with the different types of tickets. Good luck and have fun!

Can anyone tell me if this only applies if you get PH tickets through the Disneyland website?

I need an 8 day pass but was able to get a 7 day pass using my Airmiles. Do you think I would be able to pay the $15-20 for the extra day? I was assuming I would just have to pay the regular price for one day.

Thanks for your help!

Generally it's for anyone. Though how much depends on how much you paid for your existing ticket. Does your ticket have an amount printed on it? That would tell you how much you have paid and the difference between that and a 6day PH at $251 + $10 is what you would have to pay in total to upgrade it to 8 days.

Just want to add, if your ticket doesn't have a value on it, or if you only have a voucher to get one when at the parks, you will have to go to the ticket booths and they will look it up for you.

Also to upgrade you have to do it before the last day of use on your existing ticket is over.

So, how did it ended up going? Were you able to purchase an add on? If so, do you know if it has to be the day following your 6th day? Thank you!

Hi, We just got back this evening. We were able to add the 7th day NO PROBLEM :goodvibes at the ticket counter before we even turned our paper internet vouchers into tickets. The cost per person (we are all adults) was a whopping $5. The cast member did need to consult with his supervisor but it was all done with a smile.

Even got a couple of "Oh, these are special tickets" from the entry gates.

SO pleased. We actually got tickets with individual names printed on them. They were good for 15 days (I think or could have been 13 I could look at a ticket later if anyone wants to know for sure) from when first used.

Fabulous trip! I'll be doing a report in the next couple of weeks!
