Hubby and I are staying in Disney 9/17-9/24 and we have decided to head over to US/IOA for one day during our stay. We will be doing the Mears shuttle from Pop Century and hoping to do both parks in one day. I'm wondering a few tips and advice.... also if it is even possible? :confused3 Let me give you some details: Hubby is not a big thrill seeker and while I am, I have been to US/IOA before and can deal with missing some of the highlight attractions. We do, however, have a list of must-do's

IOA: Harry Potter (I'm a big fan and will want to take it ALL in here...), Jurrasic Park (Hubby is a fan, so we'll probably poke around and of course do the ride), Poseidon's Fury, Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
US: Men in Black, Terminator 2: 3d, The Simpsons Ride, Jaws, The Mummy, Disaster, Twister, Horror Make up show

Obviously the US side outweighs the IOA. Basically I was thinking of starting in IOA with Harry.. moving to Jurrasic Park... hanging out with Poseidon... enjoying an Adventure with Spidey and then having lunch. We will then pass over to US and move counter clockwise (Terminator starting, and ending with the show)
We are planning for 9/21 (Wednesday) where the park hours are 9:00am - 7:00pm on both sides.

My Questions:
-- Is this possible or are we crazy? We understand it is a lot of walking, but we're Disney trained and that's ok with us.
-- What time should we schedule the Mears pickup in the AM?
-- How does the plan look?

 Thank you to all who can help

Doing both parks in a day is far from impossible if you have aplan and dont get distracted.
The trick is to get there v early go strait over to HP as this has a small capacity and frequently gets cordened off. do FJ first then just cover the rest at a decent pace.
You will be fine as long as you get there at open. the queues at the ticket booths are pretty huge so go armed.

I agree with the previous poster. Especially in September, lines usually aren't very big at all (check out my first TR in my siggy). Not sure how Potter might affect that though since I haven't been since it opened, but I still don't think it should be that bad. You can always get an express pass if lines become unmanageable.

We always do both parks in one day. We always get the Express Pass and do US first though some do disagree with this advice. After we get done at US we head over to IOA, eat lunch, get snacks, and start out in Seuss Landing. We decide which way to go from there based on the line report from the front signs. We did this on Wednesday and ended up at Forbidden Journey around 4:45 with a 15ish minute wait.

Thanks for all of the advice. Does anyone have recommendations for Mears shuttle times? I don't know how long they typically take in the morning. We can always hang around City Walk at night, so that is no big deal.

i do both parks.
motherland first and then the darkside.

when i was at disney resort last september, people taking the transport had two morning time periods to book. 6:45 and 7:45.

that are the only 2 early morning times that was listed for my dates last 9/10

if the times are the same, take the earliest shuttle, 6:45.
you will stop at other hotels before you leave the motherland grounds.

book your seat the night before at the concierge desk in the lobby.
all of the disney resorts have this service.

depending on how many hotel stops the bus makes, it could range from 25 minutes to 60 minutes to reach the darkside once you are picked up.

you might be the last to be picked up so that would shorten the time.
it would be about 20 minutes of driving before you are let out at universal once you leave disney.

Darkside... Love it

Btw. ... I like your location. Tom Felton :lovestruc

tanx......

never say anything you don't want to be reminded of in a thread.

all i said was how Parry Hotter was so stupid.............and voila..........

i really need to google tom felton one of these days.

but, i do the parry hotter portion of UO and love the rides and shops there.
i must be a muggle.
i had no idea about the wands until i read about it on the darkside boards.

by the way, disney is the motherland.
rightly named.

the 'motherland' was always to be considered England by the colonists.

everything always was referred back to the 'motherland' for all needs.....

so disney is the motherland and universal is the darkside......

and that is Mac 101 lesson for the day..........
