HELP! At airport and left prescription sunglasses at home!

Oh dear, despite days of packing and keeping everything together I left my prescription sunglasses at home and we are now at the premier inn at Manchester airport.

So, does anyone know if you can get speedy prescription shades near wdw, how long they take and what cost they'd be?! I got new ones mainly for this trip!!

Hopefully someone else can help you but I believe WDW sells clip-ons for prescription glasses so you might be able to find a pair that match your regular glasses.

I'd look into this. I bought a pair at Walmart that clip over my glasses and they worked awesome for WDW. They're small to stow in a pocket when you need to see indoors, and easier for switching back and forth when you're in/out all day long.

Call your eye doctor and get them to fax your prescription to the Walmart Superstore's eye center. You can find the details online. You may be able to claim the expense on your travel insurance. My DD is a CM in the Magic Kingdom. She works in guest relations. I tried to reach her to see see if she had any ideas but she is working. If you don;t have a car rental then guest services at the resort may be able to assist. Have a great trip!

My dh once left his prescription sunglasses in the car at the Radisson in Manchester,it was the only item he was in charge of!!!
We asked about another pair in Orlando opticians,but we're told it would take a few days- this was no good as he is the driver.

I always carry spare pairs of specs,so we bought groovy clipons from Wal-Mart also-and converted one pair to shades.


Currently,we are in pofq and have revisited the optical dept in Wal-Mart,as ds prescription glasses broke.
He's not keen on the whole clip on look,but again they're clipped onto his spare pair of specs,and no need to keep taking on and off.

Thank you, I'll have a look at the clip on shades, last time we went I tried them but they didn't have the size and shape for my glasses. I'm the driver too so need to see!

I have lenses and non-prescription sunglasses but have runny eyes and the remnants of a cold just now so don't want to have to rely on them.

Got some clip ons at the airport, the lovely lady in the shop helped me out £9.99. DD got Ray Bans in same shop so it cost me the price of a new pair of prescription ones

I have to say all the staff we've encountered here, from security to Frankie & Benny's to the shops, have all been lovely and friendly, pleasantly surprising.
