Hello all, Newbie member here, although I have been reading this amazing forum for a few weeks. Just booked 6 nights B&b at the Kyriad Hotel commencing 3rd June. There are four of us travelling, me wife, 6yo daughter and mother-in-law. This is only my second visit, so I am asking for your guidance on a few things... What sort of tickets are the best to buy, I've read somewhere about "sponsoring", how does that work? Also the new rides (Cars, Crush) are said to be running "soft" openings befor the official openings, will we be able to ride? We will probably travel on Eurostar, are there any discounts available anywhere? If anyone has experience of DLP at this time of year, will the parks be busy and what are the opening times?
I've already got butterflies for June, and I'm 34 years old!!! Something MAGICAL happens when I walk in to DLP, is this normal?
Thanks All!!!!!!

Hello ManCityMickey and welcome to the DIS

I'm not going to be much help to you, as I know very little about annual passes/sponsoring etc, I've never been in June or travelled on Eurostar!! :teeth:

I will say that as the new rides will be doing soft opening tests from the fortnight before their official opening on the 10th June, I would think you have a good chance of getting to ride them. If you do, please let us know what they're like!!

Totally!! It certainly is for most of the people on here :goodvibes

Hi ManCityMickey and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

We'll be there around the same time so we might see you there.:goodvibes It is very magical , I agree. I'm 34 too and just love it.

Sponsoring works by a current pass holder giving you a form which gets you 10% off the price of your ticket and them extra months on their pass. You then return them the form.

As we are there at the same time we could actually meet you with the forms if you like to save on the posting back and forward.Send me a pm and we can try to arrange.

There are three types of pass but only the dream and fantasy are suitable really as the francilien does not allow you to enter the park for 2 days following purchase.
Dream is the best and most expensive (179€ before discount. I think about 153€ after)but allows you in the park one hour early Fantasy has blackout days (none in June that I recall)and you don't get the early start and costs 129€ (which is 116€ after discount).

You can get a direct Eurostar but it is cheaper I believe to swap at Lille. We always travel by air (coming from Scotland Eurostar isn't really an option for us)so hopefully someone else can help more.

perhaps you should take a look at the trip report forums? they are very helpful at answering questions as many people raise points or issues in their reviews - well, at least thats what i find helps anyway.
as for "soft opening" i havent heard about this yet... i wouldnt hold your hopes up too much tho, but seeing as u r going in june i guess they would be doing that by then anyway... disney r a bit unpredictable on things like that.
before soarin opened in epcot i waited for two days to get a preview as many other guests had said they had been selected and managed to get on it, but i didnt have any luck unfortunately - it just seems luck of the draw.
as for the eurostar - they r a train operator and thus can only b booked thru official travel websites that have permission to book rail tickets- and those which do feature the eurostar actually just link you back to the eurostar website anyway! so the best discounts to be had are generally only on the eurostar website. there r many different fare tiers available and u should book what suits u best.
i know loads about DLP and even hold an annual pass so msg me if u want any more help or info.
DAN.

Thanks Angela, sounds like a great idea to meet, if possicle. I can't PM you yet as I don't have 6 posts yet! Thanks for the info on the passports. Maybe you could PM me with contact details? Thanks again, Ian.
