As soon as the warm weather hits here in NJ, I get the itch. My DH just gave me the ok to plan another August trip. I haven't been on the boards since last Oct. I've missed everyone!! :goodvibes

So, tell me Soarin' is still around.....I went on it six times last year. Staying at the Beach Club helped get us to Epcot ALL THE TIME :teeth:

Free dining here we come.......

Last I heard it hasn't soared away just yet. It's still firmly planted to the central Florida soil.

Have fun!

Yup. It is there (and I love it too. Rode it 2 times in January during the morning EMH at Epcot). Have fun planning your trip.

From what I've heard, there are no plans to remove it at anytime in the future. The only thing I've heard is that they may change the video after the Happiest Celebration ends. Right now you're hang-gliding over California in honor of Disneyland, but I'd heard that they may change is so it's not just California.

All I know is that we loved it!!

I wish they'd convert the France, China or Canada movies to this format. It would be a) so much more comfortable than the way they are now and b) would make these pavilions exciting again.

I completely agree. I love to be entertained like I was in Soarin', but it was so neat to see the area. It is beautiful. I would much more inclined to watch Canada and China if they were entertaining instead of just educational.

Welcome back. I'm in the same boat as you - I haven't been on the boards since our trip in October. With the free dining, we decided to book a trip for this September. I probably wouldn't have planned another trip until a year from now, but we're going back much sooner than we thought! I'm so excited!

I can't wait to ride Soarin again, and of course Expedition Everest for the 1st time! Have fun planning your trip! I know I will!

Where do people get this idea that Soarin is leaving. Soarin is a permanent addition to WDW.

This is a guess, but maybe people think all the new things will leave when the celebration ends. But yes- Soarin is staying (the only change, maybe, will be that they may change the video of Soarin).

I can't wait 'til our trip in December just to ride Soarin' again and again and again...... I hope to get DH to ride. He is prone to motion sickness but I don't think this will bother him. I told him to take a pill and go on. I really want him to experience it. :)

Soarin' is brand new, extremely popular, and has lots and lots of long lines. It also cost a lot of money for Disney to build. All of this adds up to a ride that isn't going anywhere for a long time to come unless they build clones of it in the Disney parks overseas.

Yes, I think there were plans to make it a soarin' all over the world movie, rather than, soarin' all over california. The world theme would be a lot more consistent with epcot's theme, and the california movie is obviously an import from DCA, but it doesn't seem to bother people that much, so I'm not sure they will go to the expense and trouble of messing with a good thing.

I know my MIL seemed to think the new additions for the Happiest Celebration (Soarin', Lights Motors Action) were "on loan" for the celebration and were leaving after. I think it has something to do with how the commercials were worded.

Actually, a lot of attractions are being "cloned" in all the parks (example: TOT). So it's getting common to do that in Disney, and I don't think Soarin would close if it was cloned.
