Hi, I'm new to the board. My DH came home from work tonight, and said he may not be able to go on our vacation. The Air Force has scheduled some appts. during our vacation time, and it takes the commander's permission to reschedule. Now I'm taking our son no matter what, because 3 days after we come back, he will be put in a brace for the next 7-10 years, and I want him to have one last hurrah before going through this.

We have reservations at Pop Century, but stupid me, I turned down the trip insurance. Can I cancel just him and how much is it going to cost? Our reservation is for the 14-18 of Feb. and I doubt we will hear about the leave until next week.

Welcome to the Dis.....sorry about your situation.
If you have a reservation at the Pop (or any Disney resort) you are paying for the room. It is not a per person charge unless you go over the maximum number of people for the room (it's probably four for the Pop....some of the larger resorts have a five maximum).
If you have already purchased park tickets and won't need them for your husband I would just call CRO and explain the situation. Disney is remarkable when it comes to understanding problems like illness, death, or any situation that comes up to change the plans of their guests.

Sorry to hear about your son and husband - my DH is also Active Duty Air Force - soon to retire though!!!! - Anyway - I would approach the commander with all your reservation information in hand - most the time they are very understanding about this - plus you husband probably already has his leave paperwork... it is worth a try - we have had the same experience before and have been very fortuante that they let my husband leave during an IG inspection!!!!! Good luck - let me know what happens.

Great News, DH's commander, signed the papers today, he gets to go!!!!!!! That means I don't have to do the 10 hr. drive
