Hello From Disney World !!! 8-21-8-28

ok so we are in Disney World as I type this and today it is so hot thank goodness the rides, rest rooms, stores and restaraunts have a/c. there are plenty of places to hide and sit in the shade and drink some water..

Epcot today when we were there before 4 pm was so NOT crowded... No lines, no waits, on and off rides fast... ok well Soarin has a 50 minute wait sign up but we waited 20 minutes only... We went last night to see the fireworks show and it was beautiful... I love the world with the movies playing in it.. Had cheese soup in Canada today and yummy pretzel bread..

I was VERY sad to see the Free soda sampling place by the fountain is gone.. just a wall is left, not even the igloo..

Tomorrow with the heat index it is supose to be 105 degrees..

Yesterday at Magic Kingdom we fast passed everything and we were very lucky because we seem to have back to back fast passes.. waited maybe 10 - 20 minutes in between times for rides but not a big deal at all... Storms every day for about 15 - 20 minutes right at 6 pm... also no biggie, gives me a chance to shop more... Gotta love a Disney Storm while Shopping !!!

Animal Kingdom was more humid then the opened parks..I can only assume the trees keep the heat in.. Lion King show was wonderful as always.. ready Paws up !! ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR !!!!

ok well off for now, live from Disney World until Sunday the 28th...

Thanks so much for the well trip wishes....

Today sad to say saw a young man (maybe 15) passed out on the floor of the line into the great Movie Ride at MGM..Prayers & Pixie Dust to him for a speedy recovery, hoping it was just the heat...

Today there was a 20 + minute thunder, lightning, heavy rain storm. We were stuck in the Muppets 3D show.. Ran to Brown Durby for lunch reservations and had a yummy salad...

Ok so as far as weather, I believe this tropical storm Katarina (sp) has something to do with this wacky weather..

Lines, to us, don't seem to be that bad at all... MGM was not overly crowded in my opinion.. I've seen much worse..

Humidity is Bad.. YUK !!! Sweat!!!

All is well.. Ate in Germany... yummm....

Still not too many people or lines and crowds...

Rain again for a little while but not enough to dampen our trip...

WAY LESS Humidity even a semi nice breeze yet still a little hot

I can't believe we only have 2 and 1/2 days left

We are headed down there on Sunday and are a little concerned with the crowds. Are you planning any EMH evenings? We are thinking about MK next Wed. night. I think it might be OK now that kids are back in school.

Magic Kingdom today and WOW what a difference in temps..wohooo... & Less crowded then expected. We didn't need fast Pass at all..

Buzz Lightyear YEA BABY!!! I scored 999,999 (thanks to being stopped in front of the robot's hand that gives 100,000 almost everytime you hit it) I even have 2 witnesses...

Haunted Mansion.. what fun to see an active group when you walk in and the whole room says word for word what the announcement says.. so ok can we say way too many people have been on HM..

Rained again for maybe 10 minutes but hey we will take it because we were so expecting bad storms..

Jumped the monorail to Epcot to go on Soarin' yup again add 2 more times to this trip so we are now up to 6 times so far this trip..

Jumped back to MK to watch the Light Parade...so beautiful..I haven;t seen this parade in a while..Was nice to see it again..

Tomorrow is MGM again and who knows where else....

Now that I have been to who wants to be a millionaire I HAVE to go again.. It was awesome to see a million point winner and I'm so jealous he won a cruise.. so who knows how to cheat??

pfishgirl, did you see the million point winner on this trip or a previous one? The last I heard (earlier this month), they were up to 108 winners. I was curious as to whether or not that number had increased. More importantly, did you make it into the Hot Seat?

Sounds like you had a great time. Shame the heat was so bad, but considering the current weather craziness in the South, heat doesn't seem like a big deal.

Looking forward to reading more about your trip. Hope you had a safe trip home.

skiingwife, the million point question that I had in April 2004 was as follows (may not have exact wording):

The island of Capri is part of which region of Italy?

A. Campania
B. Basilicata
C. Molise
D. Calabria

In general, the questions are much like those on the television program. There are more Disney questions than on TV, but usually only 1 or 2 per set of 15 questions, so being a Disney expert does not at all guarantee a "contestant" will do well. If there is only 1, it will be one of the first 5 questions (the ones that are designed to be "gimmes"). If there is a second Disney question, it will most likely be at a fairly high level like this one that was valued at 32,000 points:

In the Disney film "Pinocchio", from what type of wood was Pinocchio carved?

A. Oak
B. Maple
C. Pine
D. Ash

As I posted elsewhere on the DIS boards, you can pretty much expect any given set of questions to contain one question in each of these categories: Geography, History, Television, Movies, and Science. They also like to use questions about US States, Zodiac Signs, Traditional Wedding Gifts, Mythology, etc.
