I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Monica and I'm a single mom to two wonderful girls, ages 11 & 12. We're a 7 hour drive to Disney World in Orlando so we are able to go once a year.

I was awarded 2 free airfare tickets anywhere in the world but they must be used by Sept. 30, 2014. We have a week off of school the third week in September and thought this might be the perfect time for Disneyland Paris (value season?)! I will need to buy one plane but I think that cost can offset as I understand my 11 year old will be free at DLP? Is that correct?

I'm so excited to plan this trip but also nervous! I look forward to getting to know you and learning all you have to share. :goodvibes

Hi and welcome:wave2:

Mid to late September is cheaper then the peak holidays. Depending on what deal and when you book under 12's is usually on a deal occasionally during the year usually in Jan but they do sometimes offer it during the year.

Feel free to ask any questions:thumbsup2

Hi and welcome :wave2:!

In September under-12s free isn't a standard offer (thats usually for trips in January to March) but DLP may come out with an offer that gives you under-12s free a bit closer to your trip dates (nobody knows so its just a case of keeping an eye on all the country offers ie UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium etc).

Thanks for your replies.

I'm so bummed about the kids under 12 offer, I should have known it was too good to be true! lol

I would like to go for 7 nights in beginning of April, last week of May or third week of September so there is some flexibility. It looks like September is value season. I was crunching numbers on the DL website and the Spetember prices were similar to June. Can this be right?

My AAA Travel Agent doesn't have any experience with DLP but he said he would call me back with the prices.

Can you recommend a state-side travel agent that is well-versed in DLP?

Heads up - last week of May is school holiday for the UK. We invade the place ;) April is holidays too all over Europe, your best bet is September :)

Prices are similar as they are before and after major school holidays.

Try looking at the Disneyland Paris site but change the countries as they do different deals and you can book any deal regardless of country

The prices for September are pretty high. When do you think they will release discounts for fall? Surely there will be deal, right?

Also do you think about the first week in June, will everyone be back in school?

The deals vary as to when they release its never like WDW where there seems to be a pattern. What countries have you looked at with booking through? I think the Netherlands have a deal at the moment.

I think most of the UK schools will be back first week of June.

Don't count on it. I've spoken to several travel agents that were not aware that there is a DL in Europe. Booking on the DLP site is really easy but whatever you do, DON'T BOOK ON THE USA DLP SITE! Seriously the prices are typically 50%+ higher than booking on the UK site. Not enough Americans visit DLP for them to offer Americans a deal. It's almost as if DLP doesn't care if American visit at all. I know it may seem intimidating to book on the UK site being an American but just put in your info and leave the country as UK. Nothing is mailed to you, everything is done via Email. It is very easy.

We booked first week in april and got kids under 12 free, alot of schools in england dont finnish until the 4th of april so it depends how many days your going for, holidays in europe start the 11th of april, we have been the last 5 years in april queues not been to bad. weather also quite good only one wet year

Hi happygal on the uk site still advertising winter offer arrivals up until 2nd april it's 30% off and kids under 12 free

Hi HappyGal! I also have tickets that must be used by Sept. 30, 2014!!!
I think I have convinced my family that we should go to DLP in May. Hope you can work it all out, too!

OMG, how nice to see another Disney fan at DAL! Are you in inflight?

Hello and welcome to the dlp forum :) I was lucky enough to visit Atlanta for a few days last year, you live in a great city!

I would totally agree with what everyone else has said, don't book through US travel agents or the website as prices will be much higher than UK, Ireland or France sites.

The UK site has an offer on just now which ends 30th January, meaning there is likely to be a new one not long afterwards. Maybe it will be good for you.

I have visited the parks several times in early June and mid September, both represent equally good value for money and have pretty low crowd levels.

Be sure to factor some time in Paris into your trip, since you'll be coming all this way. You can go into the city on a Disney organised tour, or it's very easy (and much cheaper) to get there by train.

We are heading to DLP after our transatlantic DCL crossing on May 31 and staying until Jun 5 We have been looking for several months, but like others have become spoiled by WSW and their regular discounts. Have you thought about resorts yet or were you looking at staying off property? I wouldn't go to WDW without staying on property, but I have seen several talk about the options that are just a small train ride away. Is it worth the extra to stay on property?
