Notice my sunglasses? I'm down in Florida at Daytona Beach. The sun is bright, the sea breeze feels and smells great, and I love the way the beach sand feels between my toes.

I did have one little accident...well...two little accidents.

I was sitting in my low beach chair, letting the water brush up against my feet before the water retreated back to the ocean. It was absolutely relaxing. I pulled my "DIS-CON-I cap" over my eyes and began to relax........Then before I new it, I had that awful salty ocean water up my nose and in my mouth.....and I was on my back sliding backwards as a big wave came out of nowhere and knocked me out of my chair and on my back...lol...lol...lol.

Actually, I had it pretty good. It was all those poor families behind me under there umbrellas...their blankets, towels, shoes, shirts, cups, drinks, food, and a hundred plastic sand castle making things and buckets and shovels were floating eveywhere..lol.

Everyone was hopping up grabbing their soaked towels and blankets and chasing their shoes and books up the tide on the beach as their kids were all jumping up and down laughing at their parents and all the excitement.

It was very funny.

It's good to be off work for a change.

I just thought that you could picture me rolling backards out of my chair...lol.

If you are in the area, you're welcome to come sit on the beach with me. No cars on this stretch of beach.

Ray, it sounds heavenly. (except for the tidal wave!) LOL Glad you weren't hurt! Enjoy your time at the beach. Wish I could be there. I'd enjoy putting my tootsies in the water right about now. :D :D

Sounds like you're having a relaxing time Ray. Good for you !!! That wave in sailing terms is called a "rogue wave". Pretty weird when that happens huh?? It's even weirder when you're on a sailboat and the stupid thing is 20 feet high:eek:

Vacation time , Ray!!!!!!!

The beach sounds wonderful!!I wish that I was there!!

As for me I would have loved to been there...I would love to be anywhere warm and sunny... So glad you are relaxing and taking in some water time....:smooth:

Sounds wonderful - (all except the saltwater up the nose part!)!

Dream happy thoughts in the summer sun Ray. :)

Oh Ray its sounds as if you are having a wonderful time, and a well deserved break!! Now watch out for those waves!!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

:sunny: Mmmmmmm Ray, you took me away there for a moment. Thank you. :) Sounds wonderful. Enjoy Friend. :) :sunny:

Thank you, everyone. This morning the waves are calm with a light breeze as the sun peeped through a few clouds. I can't believe that I was the only one on the beach.

From my sofa, typing this post on my WebTV, I have both sliding glass doors open, watching the smooth ocean surface, watching the light clap of the waves as they hit the smooth beach.

Barb: Thank you, I wish that you could be hear, too. I love sitting my beach chair right on the edge of the water and letting my toes sink in the sand.

figmentvi: Thank goodness that I didn't have a 20-foot rogue wave...lol. Thanks for the information. The ocean looks quiet this morning.

Smee and Helopoh: I wish that you were here, too to enjoy this warm weather.

DixieDreamer: That salt water up the nose and mouth is sort of awful...lol.

Pixie Power!: Thank you, I will...it helps to know if the tide is going out or coming in before I snooze off...lol.

luvdsny: There is something about the beach and the ocean that is so relaxing.

janette: I'll fly back home on the 5th of June.

Well, have a great morning everyone.

I see on the news that New York is holding a ceremony this morning at the twin towers site. I know it must be very difficult after eight months of 24-hour, continuous, hand by hand search and cleaning for the missing 1700 souls.

My prayers to everyone, especially those who lost loved ones or living in New York, like Jaypd, and those fighting for our freedom everywhere.

God Bless.

Here is a link to a cam-shot of a ocean view that updates every few minutes. It's on the pier shooting north. The first blue glass building on the left is the Adam Mark Resort, and further is new construction of Adam Mark Resorts and another new highrise resort.

I'm actually staying at the shorter 10 story resort that you might see that is closer to the ocean. Maybe you'll see me on the beach with my 2001 DIS-CON-I cap that looks like a Dan Murphy cap...lol. It is sort of far away.

Here is the cam link:

Have fun, Ray! I have a friend who is at Fort Lauderdale right now. I'll tell you the same thing I told her:

KEEP YOUR TOOTSIES AWAY FROM THE SHARKS!!!

I can just picture you sliding out of your chair!!! HAHAHA

And all of those people chasing their belongings as their children laugh!! HAHAHA

Thanks for a very vivid story and a good laugh!!! HAHAHA

No sharks, here...I hope.

It's been a cloudy, rainy type of day, but in a nice way.

They cancelled the shuttle flight again, this evening. They say that they'll try again on Monday. I'll have a great view even this far away on a clear night.

I'm glad that you got your reservation at the CR.
