DH and I may be blessed with an opportunity to do a vacation around Dec of this year. We are in great need of a break after spending the last year in a Fema trailer in our back yard. Katrina was not good to us but we still have plenty of blessings. Anyhoo, I would looove some good advice about if we want to plan a cruise line and DW adventure. I am open for any suggestions. It is just the two of us. :surfweb:

God has blessed you in more ways you can imagine. Yesterday I was watching the HBO special about hurricane Katrina and my emotions were just going retarded. I was angry one minute, sad the next, then crying...... It was just mind boggling to see what you had gone through and to see how our government response to you guys needing help was just unacceptable. Anyway, I am glad to see you pulled through.

First thing, I do when I am planning for a WDW vacation is to plan out which parks you I am going to and what days. Go to the official WDW website and look at everything from attractions, dining, and recreational activities that would be of interest to you.

I have 2 kids who love anything from thrill rides to not so thrilling rides, so we will be getting on Dinosaur, Expeditoin EVerest, Splash Mountain, Kali river rapds.....anything where my kids will meet the height requirements.

Alot of your planning should be catered to what you are willing to do and not to do, eat and not eat. Go to this website: www.allearsnet.com and they have alot of insight as far as theme parks, transportation to and from the parks, park attendance, the dining menus for the restaurant.......a whole lot of stuff.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip and you know, I know, and God knows you sure do deserve it.

O.k. dont make me cry now. :) Thank you for your responce. DH and still have a shell of a house so it could be worse. Our faith is what pulls us through. You guys have a sensitive date coming up as well. It is amazing how one part of the country can effect us all.

I will check out the site thanks for the info. Have you ever taken the cruise?

Sorry it took me awhile to respond to your last post. My family and I have never taken a cruise. My husband is not to big on boats or anything that has to do with water travel. Sorry I can't give you any advice on that.

Yes, 9/11.......tommorrow......I remember that day like if it were yesterday. Very scary, very sad. I was one of the lucky ones I guess. My husband, dad and my brother made it back safely. It sure tugs at my heart to think of all of those people who died. My prayers are with the deceased and their families. Lets not forget the victims of 9/11 and Katrina!!!

If you are planning the land/sea vacation package, make certain you do the land 1st, as this gives you plenty of opportunity to RELAX from your WDW park trip before going home!
Read through these boards, pick up a copy of the Unofficial Guide, check out the disneyworld.com site as well as the allearsnet.com site, and you'll be all set. Make sure you call to make reservations for dining, even if you're not on the dining plan. Make a rough itinerary after consulting the hours of operation so you know whereabouts you're likely to be around dinnertime each day.
Read through these boards, as well as the home page for this site. Lots of fantastic info everywhere.

Well I am so happy to see you on here as a survivor.. Anything you need to know you can always start a new thread and so many loving disboard member will give you GREAT advice
