So I am talking to my younger sister today and she is telling me about her plans to go to disney in Sept. I am like FREE DINING!! and she is What free dining? We are staying Pop and paying $35 for the dining plan.
HELLO Did I teach you nothing!?! I told you of the dis! I demand that you get on that phone right now and get yourself some free stinking dining!
So with a small upgrade to POR and $7 cheaper a night! FREE DINING!

So it's still available. And will they ever learn? by they I mean my family.

I think your family and my family would get along very well.

DBF's theory is that the relatives make really stupid plans they know will take me a long time to fix so that I'll eventually just offer to do all of their planning from the beginning ... I think he's giving them too much credit.

Ugh this reminds me of Free Dining two years ago. I was chatting with a woman in a smoking section in MGM and she was complaining about the crowds, she had just arrived the day before, which was the day free dining started. So I said, "I know, with the free dining, the crowds picked up." "What?" "Are you on the dining plan?" "Yes" "You know it's free right?"

She didn't. I think I ruined her trip.

I was at Costco shopping this evening when I overheard two women talking and one of them was going to WDW in September -- I so badly wanted to interrupt and ask her if she knew about free DDP. I didn't though because...a) I was eavesdropping, and b) DS would have died of embarrassment. Boy, was it hard to just walk away!

I know I want to butt in with strangers too = COME ON IT'S FREE!! And my sister couldn't believe they didn't mention it on the phone when she reserved. I pointed out if she was silly enough to pay for it during free time who were they to argue!
I have serious free dining envy. We can never travel during that time due to my dh's job and the kids school schedule. But oy what a deal!

So do I understand that they upgraded from a value to a moderate and it was $7 cheaper? Or was it less because they'd upgraded but dumped DDP?

I've also made the error of mentioning free dining in the breakfast crowd at POP...I suddenly had a bunch of eavesdroppers wearing one of two faces: "you're kidding " and "she doesn't know what she's talking about "
