heating jars/pureeing food in DW restaurants

I'll be going to DW in Sept. with ds who is tube fed but also eats orally. I've read that the restaurants don't mind pureeing food. Is that universal-like at the buffets too? I was planning on getting a cordless hand blender to use at the table. That would work at the buffets but at some of our table service meals there won't be anything appropriate for him. He actually eats very little but I figure I'll try to see if he'll eat something at Chef Mickey's our first night. If he doesn't then the rest of the time I'll just bring jars of baby food which is what he mostly eats at home. Would restaurants be willing to heat a jar of food for me? I'm thinking of the fancier (to me anyways) restaurants like Coral Reef & Narcoosies. What about at counter service restaurants?

I never know ahead of time when he'll be willing to eat orally and what. Our first time at DW he ate everything in site and at Chef Mickeys actually refused to let me feed him-that was the very last time he ever fed himself (he has a degnerative disease). The next year he wasn't very interested in food at all even though we paid full price for him. We have free dining so it's not going to be a big deal if he doesn't eat much. I just want to be as prepared as possible whatever he decides to do. Thanks

I'm not sure whether they would be able to heat a jar of baby food for you or not; there are food service rules that vary from state to state the may prevent them from bringing food brought from outside into the kitchen.
This might not be a problem if you are using sealed jars of baby food, but I'd prepare to think of other possible ways to heat the baby food. Also, if they are able to heat it, they may have a microwave that is set up for the things they normally heat. So, it may not work (even consumer microwaves may heat too hot).
I know for babies, people often put the jar into a bowl or cup of very hot water to heat it. That would be effective and you would be able to get hot water even at counter service restaurants.

::hugs:: for a great trip

That's what I was going to suggest. Also, you can just ask your waiter to puree a portion of the meal for you. We did that with Christian. He eats a lot, but it has to be very mushed up. We ate at several nice restaurants in Epcot and never had an issue. That kid ate pork chops, sweet potatoes, lamb, rice, squash, and more. The staff was more than willing to help us.

At table service restaurants the chefs will puree almost anything on the menu. You can contact the restaurants and ask them to serve your son baby food and give them a list of foods. They might buy the baby food for him, it is worth a try as they have in the past bought other items for guests but I am not sure if that would work.

They cannot take anything from a guest and use it in the restaurant. They cannot heat up the baby food even if the jar was never opened. They cannot take my unopened bottle of barbecue sauce and pour it on my chicken dinner or my salad dressing to put on my salad, sigh.

Food can be heated in the baby center.
