Is there a list for kids with heart conditions. What they can and can not ride. We are trying to plan a trip but want to make sure that my nephew will be able to ride rides without feeling left out. He has a severe heart condition.

Hi there! Sounds like we're in the same boat as you . . . my son has complete heart block & a pacemaker . . . he just turned 4 last week. We are going to Disney for the 1st time in July, staying at SSR. I haven't found a "definitive" list of "yes & no" rides--I've contacted Disney and checked with his cardiologists at Cincy Children's Hospital. The best advice I've been getting is from here on the DISabilities board :) . We'll just be steering clear of the "thrill rides", using fast passes when available for other rides??? I also received the advice to use a stroller as a wheelchair because of his need for frequent rests and shade (he can walk & even run for short periods, but wears out and wants to be carried much quicker than most children even younger than he. We are just going to take it SLOW!!! If my trip is before yours, I'll be happy to let you know how it goes, and if anyone has a "list"--please pass it on--thanks!

Hi to both of you and :welcome: to disABILTIES.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. The top item is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Page 3 of the FAQ gives a lot of links, including to the Disney Guides to Guests with Disabilities.

You might want to buy a copy of the Passporter "Guide to WDW For Guests With Disabilities" which is available at many locations, including www.passporter.com and www.amazon.com This book can give a lot of useful information.

The Disney official website's link to the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities does list the attractions that have warnings for people with health conditions like heart conditions, high blood pressure, etc. so you can get that information there.
As Cheshire Figment posted, there is a link to the Guidebook in the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Once you are at the parks, there is a little 'warning icon' triangle for the attractions with warnings both on the park maps and on signs at the entrance to attractions and signs before the boarding area. So, you will be able to avoid those attractions at the park, even without looking in the guidebook.
