My Mom will be coming with us to Disney World in April. She has hearing aides so she'll be avoiding Kali River Rapids & Spalsh Mountain. I heard the Stitch at World of Disney spits so she'll watch out for this. Anything else she should aviod to keep her hearing aides dry?princess:

There are spitting things all over at all the parks. There are the spitting camels at Mk, spitting Coke bottle at DHS.

But for reference, my Mom wears hearing aids too and unless it is like Kali River or Splash, she doesn't worry about them. On rides like that she just takes them off and puts them in a zip lock bag in her purse until the ride is over and then puts them back on. She hasn't had any trouble doing it this way.

and my husband simply cannot wear his at all. he finds the overall noise level just too loud.

There's a great product called Ear Gear which fits over the hearing aids and protects them from moisture. They can also come with cords to clip to a piece of clothing so they won't get lost. Hearing aids should still be removed and kept dry if they're going to get soaked, like on the rapids or in a waterpark.

if she wants to ride the water rides just remove hearing aides and place in an water proof container. Also keep the container handy in case of sudden downpours. REmove and protect. Due to noise levels and since I also sign I just don't wear my aides in the parks.

Thank you for the Ear Gear suggestion, Pluto.AuD. I never heard of them before. My daughter & I will be looking for them.

Thank you! :thumbsup2

Also - watch for people with misting fans. They are just being polite spraying the near crowd - and have no idea that you are wearing hearing aides.

This is what we do for my husband and his hearing aids. And as for crowd noise, he hasn't had a problem with wearing his hearing aids at the parks. Depending on what type you have, they may be able to lessen crowd and background noise - which is what my husbands do.
