Hi All!

Planning our trip for December, and it is quickly turning into a trip that revolves around the food ha!

I know at some point we are going to want to get something healthier to eat, I am looking for suggestions on good quick service/counter service places that have healthy choices (specifically salads/vegetables etc)

Table service suggestions also appreciated!

Thanks!

sunshine seasons in epcot is quick service and offers rotisserie chicken w/ veggies, salads, etc. You may be surprised on it though b/c i'm sure they butter the veggies, so dont get full fat salad dressing or you'll have just the same fat/cals as a burger. I say eat whatever you want and diet at home.

Teppan Edo would be a healthy option, they cook everything infront of you and its just cut meat and veggies w/ noodles. you add your own sauce from their dipping set they give you.

Check out the menus on this site or at all ears. Many of the counter service places offer salads and all have at least one vegetarian selection I believe. You can make a hamburger healthier by getting apple slices instead of fries - we do this just because my daughter and I aren't big fans of Disney's fries!

Like a PP said, most of them have a healthier option. You can see menus on allearsnet.com

The DIS has menus, too. The DIS has tons of good info - it's just hard to find sometimes.

I'm not sure what your criteria is--I don't try to watch calories but I'm not a big fan of the usual burger/chicken strip/french fry CS meals. These are some of the healthier options that we like that don't include any fried items which is what I mainly try to avoid.

At Columbia Harbor House at the MK, I really love the hummus sandwich. I make sure to eat there at least once per trip.

Sunshine Seasons in Epcot serves a very nice grilled salmon. They have other healthy options, as well, stir fries, etc.

Tangierine Cafe offers a platter with hummus, tabbuleh, and chicken or lamb schwarma.

Some of the resort food courts serve a nice salad. It's been a few years, but the last time we stayed at WL, they had a salad with an apple vinaigrette that was fabulous. Picabu's at the Dolphin has some nice salads, too.

I've noticed that a lot of the sidewalk vendors are now selling fruit and items like prepackaged carrots with ranch dip and apples with caramel.

I would echo the previous posters... Sunshine Seasons is great for healthy, tasty options. I had a seared tuna salad with asian noodles last month that was great. Also the grilled salmon with salad nicoise was good.

Columbia Harbor House "Lighthouse" hummus sandwich with broccoli slaw.

Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge has two good entree salads.

Tangerine Cafe

At Hollywood Studios, it's not that much more expensive to have lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby if you stick to a salad or the butternut squash soup.

I agree with the other pp's - Sunshine Season (roasted beet salad:lovestruc), Columbia Harbour House, Tangierine Cafe...Believe it or not I would add Pizzafari to the list. Not for the pizza :sad2: but they have a fantastic antipasto salad - artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, tomato and mozzarella, little bit of salami, marintated mushrooms, fresh veggies and baby greens. :lovestruc

Pizzafari also has a decent chicken caesar salad or at least they did some years back. Beaches and Cream does too.

If you're worried about the fat in the dressing, maybe you can get it on the side.

Any QS restaurant that serves salad has Ken's fat free italian available. Just ask for the salad without the standard dressing and they'll give you Ken's packets.

I'd have to say Sunshine Seasons, too.

Also, be careful with a lot of the salads. Many of them have a lot of ingredients that make them really unhealthy. You're sometimes better off getting some sort of sandwich (hamburger - no cheese/no bacon, grilled chicken, etc.) and the apple slices that another poster suggested!

Make sure you watch the drink options too if you really want to be healthy! Even those sports drinks are loaded with sugar. I normally go with the diet lemonade or water.
