You know, this is why you are so tired in the mornings, you shouldn't be up so late looking at food porn. You should get up early like I do!!! HaHaHa :rotfl:

I want to add my condolences on your loss, I'm sure I cant imagine how your family must feel, but I do hope somehow this Disney adventure helped to begin the healing - and I so appreciate that you took the time to give -

now, how funny - and I thought I had the only stubborn child!!

but, please, I wish to thank you most sincerely for the pictures of the food - ESPECIALLY the ones with bites missing - it adds to my knowledge of what is inside!!

and I have to add one more :rotfl: for your comment on cheese -

you cheesehead you - so I suppose you are a Packer fan - drat that Favre anyway!!

;)

I have to be a cheesehead. I live in the city where there are 4 cheese factories, surrounded by cheese facories and both parents in previous careers worked in cheese factories. My oldest DS is a pure cheesehead also. He is always debating which cheese is better. Not we could talk Brats as I live 15 minutes from Johnsonville also!

Love the report by the way.

So sorry about your loss

Awesome review and great pictures!

Those pictures from LTT didn't look very good. That potroast, is it similair to the pot roast as 50's Prime Time? My pot roast was tender, but mostly grizzle.

Sorry, I'm a night owl...so I will be tired in the morning at work. I will need extra coffee.:surfweb:
forge on with the food porn!

Wm said the meat was good. 50's PTC was better last time we went. I think there was some grizzle. It tasted better than it looked. Get some sleep!

Day three...Mom's cough is getting worse and plans start to change...sigh! We had breakfast at CBR - nothig special and I am not always coherant enough to take pics at 7:00 in the AM. Mickey waffles are always good and so is the bakery...even though the local Piggly Wiggly has better, but I digress. Today we have it planned to go to Hollywood Studios or whatever they are calling it now. I might add Do Toy Story Mania right away or get a fast pass - by 9:15 the wait time was like 45 minutes. We had early reservations for 50's PTC and every likes this one. We went here in 2006 with mom and dad and really enjoyed the food. Now Wm has been talking about getting their potroast for weeks and now remember what he ordered at LTT...
he seat us near a very Large southern family, I know they are southern cause they don't talk like me, very strong accent. OUr waiter is a drip, no personality, so I end up watching the other tables waitress who is way funnier. Our waiter was so bad, not a bad waiter, just boring. We did have a little entertainment when the southern table next to us had issues with their one son. He aparently did not like the meal his mom ordered for him and proceeded to have a small fit, dad wasn't having any of it and took the kid to the bathroom, as they were leaving the boy announces, "great now dad's going spank me cause I didn't want chicken." My mom then whispers to me, "you know that kids gonna get beat". They returned and that kid never did eat anything. Moving on...

For appetizers, mom got the shrimp cocktail - I think the pic got deleated. Good solid shrimp. Nothing fancy.

We also shared the crab cake. No description on All Ears, but is was a very large crab cake I believe on top of succatash - not sure on that part. I loved it. Mom like the crab cake but not the stuff underneath - it had the dreaded lima beans.

100_3375.jpg

Wm had the chicken noodle soup. Good solid soup. no pic sorry, I had to take Stinky to the bathroom for an outfit adjustment. Sometimes throwing away the undies is just a better choice don't ya think. And just for an FYI, there are very few stores at HS that have boys shorts and when you do find them they are 20.00.

Back to the food.

Mom ordered the "Fish Sandwich - fried beer-battered haddock on a crusty roll, with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce, served with a house salad or french fries " She liked it a nice piece of fish.

100_3378.jpg

I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich. No description on All Ears. Must be a new lunch menu. he sandwich had a big chicken breast, cheddar cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. Very good. Good sauce, not too smoky or spicy.

100_3376.jpg

No you remember Wm has been talking about the pot raost for weeks, so what does he order...Meatloaf. In the end he said he should have ordered the Pot Roast, and that the meat loaf was Ok. It takes a lot to get Wm excited about food. Traditional Meatloaf - a blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze, served with mashed potatoes, and green beans

100_3379.jpg

The kids both ordered the hot dog. Very basic, but they liked them. In fact Josh wants to go back next time just for the hot dog.

100_3377.jpg

Sorry no pics of dessert, not sure why...But Josh had the smores(wm didn't want his dessert) and prefers when we make them camping.
Mom had an icecream sundae - HUGE, but good.
Sam had kids ice cream again.
I really enjoyed the angel food cake with berries. Angel food cake is one of my favorites and you really can't screw that up.

All in all a very good meal. We will go back again, but it is not a must do, we may try something else next time.

We were going to go to Pizza Planet for supper, but everyone wanted to go back to the hotel so CBR for supper. No pics no review, just not worth it. Sigh...

Next up our day at Epcot...and the return of Snow White...hopefully tomorrow as Mom has the kids overnight. WooHoo!

Nice review of 50's PrimeTime...
once again, I'll the late night owl. Hopefully this weekend you will have more for me to ready. Until then:happytv:

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Mom passed away a little over a year ago now and the meloncoly still hits me at times. Looking forward to more and snow white is cracking me up.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope some pixie sparkes touch your heart and ease your burden.

I don't know which I'm enjoying more...the wonderful pictures of the food or your charming descriptions of life with your family. I'm enjoying reading your posts very much.

In case you want to know what we look like
(I like food reports that show what the people look like)...
here we are are on our way into Epcot.
Mom doesn't like her pic taken and it was very bright.
So I apologize for the faces.

image11.jpg

This was a pretty good pic for us, as Mom kinda went
down hill after this in both the cold and emotionally,
but I'll get to that later. We had Early ADRs
at Coral Reef, so we toured around the living seas and Soarin
and headed over to Coral Reef.
Now this was everyones favorite in 2006 when we
brought my parents for the first time, so we had very high
expectations.
Dad liked this place alot also when he came in 2006.
Apparently my mom and Dad had the most fun at EPCOT
when they came.
It was their first and only trip together, so mom is a bit
sensitive on this day.
We get seated near the aquarium, which Stinky is thrilled with.
Josh plays his video game so keeps himself busy.
Stinky is pretty full of it and is screwing around, so I needed
to take him to the bathroom for an attitude adjustment.
I apparently spanked him once in the bathroom yrs ago so
now he thinks everytime we go in this kind of context,
he thinks he is going to get spanked.
He never does, but the adjustment sems to work.
We are all very hungry and our expectations are high.
By now the boys are pretty dissapointed in the fact that
kids appetizers are usually carrot sticks or chicken soup.
But Sam orders the carrots any way.
And the Dip they bring is runny ranch dressing.
yuck! he eats the carrots anyway.

100_3443.jpg

Josh skipped the appetizer.

Stinky and I ordered strawberry slushes (I think they are actually virgin margeritas). Yummy.
100_3438.jpg

100_3440.jpg

The waitress brought out loaves of warm bread and dipping oil. Stinky ate a whole loaf him self.
I enjoyed the oil, but I was the only one.
The bread was good dipped into the soup also.

100_3441.jpg

100_3439.jpg

Wm ordered the curry corn chowder with applewood smoked bacon and coconut milk.
He liked it. Said it had a nice kick.
No pic due to previously mentioned attitude adjustment.

Mom and I both had the lobster soup. Still very good.
Josh even tried it. He liked it last time, but not this time.
Mom was disappointed, but I think she may have built it up too much.

100_3442.jpg

The boys both had the grilled chicken and fries.
It was good but boring chicken.
Josh ate quite a bit but Stink did not - probably too full of bread!
It also came with broccoli, no one ate it but it was a nice thought.

100_3447.jpg

Wm and Mom both ordered the Grilled Chicken breast served over spaetzle
finished with applewood smoke bacon and chicken broth.
Wm LOVED it saying the bacon made the dish. Mom was not a big fan.
She just kind of piced at it. I was feeling bad for her at this point.
My goal in life is to make sure everyone is happy and I wasn't doing my job.

100_3446.jpg

I had the "Grilled Mahi Mahi - served with cashew-jasmine rice topped with a
spicy pineapple chutney finished with a coconut rum beurre blanc"
I enjoyed this very much. Could have been more cashews,
but then again almost any dish could be improved with more cashews.

100_3444.jpg

The boys of course got ....

Make your own sundaes. Shocking I know. Ice cream again.
They were ok with this one cause it had 3 different toppings
and they could make your own.
They also got bites off of our chocolate waves.

100_3449.jpg

100_3450.jpg

All three adults chose the Chocolate wave - hold the cherries.
Very good, but again, Mom was a bit dissapointed.
I think she had built it up, or its was much better in 06 when
they served it with ice cream.

100_3448.jpg

All in all a good solid meal. If we come back,
we may go somewhere else next time, but I wouldn't
mind having the soup again.
So following our meal, we went through innoventions
and on to space ship earth.
After this ride, mom mom was not looking well.
Not like she was going to hurl, more like she was really upset.
I was very concerned.
I asked if she was OK and she just liek, Its my cold.
Only two days ago did she admit to me that she was
missing my Dad very much and couldn't handle being there.
So she feigned illness and went back to the hotel.
I worried about her the rest of the
afternoon.
The boys and I decided to use up a few snack credits
and see if we could find the candy making lady in Japan.
So off we went. On the way to the world show case is one of the "wonderfull" ground fountains kids can play in. UGH!
they are cute and nice when it is 95 and your going to
be outside. Not so nice when its 80ish and you want to
wander in and out of very air conditioned shops. Sigh.
So of course, Stink got
soaking wet, even though I begged him not to.
We did walk around and found a few things we
liked. Wm and Stink got Kaki Gori (glorified Hawaiin Ice).
Wm liked his, I ended up eating Stinky's.
Josh and Sam got picked for the candy making lady
(I can never remember her name accurately) and
received a Dragon -
which later turned averthing and everyone GREEN..
Beware the stuff she uses to paint the candies.

100_3501.jpg

The stuff on Stinkys face is left over from face painting...he was a pirate.

Wm loves a good german brat with saurkraut,
so he stopped at one of the F&W booths. Notice his product placement.
Ugh! Men!
100_3488.jpg

We tried the mini churros with chocolate sauce.
No pic, but they were Ok. The choco sauce was good.
Wm dared me to drink it (I have been known to drink
choco syrup right out of the fridge just to gross him out. Ahh love.)
I tried but it was too hot, I could only do small sips.
But it was a very good chocolate, ain't no Hersheys here.

I found a Greek stand, and am a HUGE fan of baklava.
The kids liked it, but I have made better.
Not back for having to make large batches and keep it
refrigerated.

Our tour around the world resulted in a small run in with
Snow White (the very sam Snow White from the CRT)
and a resurgence in talking dirty in a very
high voice. I don't want to get graphic,
but discussion ensured as to what could make Grumpy Happy.

Our last and final treat was very salty WDW popcorn.
I think my lips were
the shrinking from all the salt.

We went back to the hotel to check on mom, who was
back to her natural color and had taken a nap. We realized
the boys didn't have supper - bad parents. Sam got a burger
- he loves CBRs burgers and I had Josh get some
pizza. He didn't eat much, I thought he was tired.
I was wrong!

So for future reference, housekeeping will bring extra towels,
a biohazard bag, and air freshener at 3:00am when your kid
vomits all over the place.
hey will also come clean the carpet around 9:00am and you
won't be able to tell he even vomited! Yeah!

Next up, not so much crap food for obvious reasons, and Planet Hollywood...

okay, honestly...I now have graphic images burnt into my mind of Wm and the brat...thank you! NOT....
I'm once again sitting next to Brian as he's sleeping on the couch tonight and I'm trying not to laugh out loud!
Glad to know that I don't have to steal a "spill kit" from work now that mousekeeping has the red biohazardous bags.

So glad that you booked the bounce back offer for a re-do. Not that this trip is sounding bad....just that it could be so much better. I am still loving it though.

Now not only are you going to have to scrapbook my trip pictures, you are seriously going to have to write me trip report. Nicole, you are doing a FABULOUS job! See you on Tuesday...Bridget has a hospital run to Madtown on tomorrow. Keep up the good reports!

Oh your poor Mom. :sad1: I bet it was so hard for her to be someplace she enjoyed so much with your Dad. :grouphug:

I am enjoying your reviews. Love your DH product placement! :rotfl: MEN!

Just for a short update...DH forgot about his "product placement" and I had to show him this AM. He claims he didn't do it on purpose. Yeah right! He laughed sooooo hard.

Also, My Mom's cold is finally getting better. And she is getting into a routine now. Thank you to all of you who have sent out kind messages. Thank you. It is still very surreal. The trip to WDW did help. It gave us something to look forward to and to plan for. Mom liked being in the warm weather...if you notced we are from Wisconsin. Maybe tomorrow I will get out the next installment. I now have a cold and am off to bed. Sorry Tammy, no giggles tonight. Hope all went well with the Dr visit....

So sorry it took me this long to get back on. Its getting colder up here and my desk mate gave me her cold.

9/30/08 - Tuesday - Everyone slept in today and we headed off to Disney Quest for Josh my little gamer. Mom had recovered, but her head cold was getting worse, we had to ask for extra kleenex. A little back ground on my hubby. In 2002 he had a cyst removed from his brain. This cyst sat on some cranial nerves that affect his balance. Sometimes he gets a bit of vertigo.

We get dropped off at Downtown Disney and decide to try Earl of Sandwich for Breakfast since we had such a good lunch there the other day. No pics of either, sorry I have a really impatient family. The breakfast was Ok, nothing to write home about. Josh was disapponted that they didn't have plain eggs. Except for the muffins which were like giant cupcakes - mmmmmm cake! Any HOOO, we are off to Disney Quest. Disney quest is very cool and being there with my youngest is like being the ball in a pin ball machine, bouncing everywhere. Mom and I take Stinky and Wm and josh go off together. Wm is also a big gamer and said he could of stayed in the room with all the retro games for hours. We all met after about an hour and half. Wm didn't look so good. He was a bit pasty and his hands were shaking. With vertigo, his balance gets way off and sick to his stomach. Unfortunately Josh took him on a virtual roller coaster and this messed with Wms vertigo really bad. We were going to stay at Disney quest all day and go out for an early supper, but we decided to cancel our evening ressies at Planet Hollywood and we would try them for lunch. Wm thought maybe if he ate, he would feel better. Now, as I am a planner, I did pack his dramamine, he unfortunately didn't bring it with to Disney Quest. A lot of times, the only thing that helps is a nap or a valium, but it takes him several day to feel normal again. In fact he didn't feel normal again till we got back to good ole cheese town and even a few days after that.

So I know that I have read terrible reviews about Planet Hollywood, but Josh found out they have chicken strips made with captain crunch and he really wanted to try it. So we trudge over to the big blue ball, the kids have their pics taken in front, I buy them because I am feeling really guilty that both hubby and mom don't feel good. We get seated right away int he middle of the room jammed right up against another table in which English and manners was not a first for them. Everytime they got up and moved, they bumped into someone at our table and never said anything. Planet Hollywood is loud, which my mom does not like, but the inside is neat to look at. My Dad would have loved all the movie memorabilia. He was realy a movie buff.

The boys didn't get an appetizer, so I ordered the "Parmesan Spinach Dip - creamy parmesan cheese dip with spinach and mushrooms served with crisp tortilla chips and pico de gallo" with extra chips, since both kids like chips. hey didn't eat that many but I really liked the dip. Mom liked it to, but she really liked the appetizer she ordered, "Potato Skins - crispy skins with bacon, mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses, served with sour cream" She could make a meal just from potato skins. Wm tried the skins, but wasn't feeling it today. Normally they would have fought over the last one.

100_3512.jpg

100_3513.jpg

rying to lighten the mood and keep everyone happy, I become the pointer. You know, "Oh look over there is E.T." and point. I did this until our entree's came. Both boys ordered the chicken tstrips and fries, but we had to special order the captain crunch ones. Both kids took one bite of the chicken and didn't like it. Of course they didn't like it, why would they? I tried them, they were Ok but I wouldn't order them.

100_3515.jpg

Mom ordered the crab cakes, with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I thought the combo was odd. Mom liked the cakes and the potatos, but not the broccoli.

100_3516.jpg

Wm went with a plain hamberger with fries. the Hamburger was good but his stomach didn't appreciate the 1/4 lb of beef. He ate half and went to find the bus to go back to CBR. The boys split the rest of his burger and they liked it too.

100_3517.jpg

I decided to try the shrimp fajitas. I like fajitas a lot and really enjoy Chili's chicken and shrimp fire grilled ones. Well the ones at PH sucked. The shrimp was over cooked and had no flavor. The accompanyments were fine, but I don't like Spanish rice or guacamole (can't get past the color). Even when full I will finish all my shrimp. Not this time.

100_3514.jpg

Some people may like PH, but we won't be back.

We returned to the room, wm was sleeping. Mom took a nap. The boys and I went swimming and it appears if everyone just needed a break today. Next up, California Grill - otherwise known as the best place we ate all week - at least according to wm and Sam. I am off to go shopping with mom and the boys. Maybe I will get back on tonight!:rotfl:
