Here in Tucson, none of the school kids get time off for President's Day. But every year, there is a big rodeo over several days and ALL of the schools all over Tucson and the surrounding suburb towns/cities take 3 days off of school.
So this post is intended as kind of a public service announcement to anybody who's going to visit DL between Wed 2/22 - Sun 2/26....pull yourself up by your bootstraps, partners, and get your saddles ready because a LOT of Tucson families go to Disneyland over those 5 days! Every year, at least a couple of my friends & their families make the drive out to Anaheim to go to Disneyland during Rodeo Days.
Here's the funny thing - 2 hours north in Phoenix, nobody gets 3 days of school off for a rodeo. It's only a Tucson thing. I've lived here for several years now and I still don't really understand it.
